After image?

Hey...

This is one of those things that never gets mentioned yet I get a lot of messages about on Facebook... and of which I experience myself.

Does anyone here... after Sleep Paralysis... or a full nonphysical experience... upon opening their eyes within their darkened room, get an ambiguous pattern left in the centre of their vision.

This can vary to a splash of colour... geometric/fractal patterns or what looks like a face... I have even seen what looks like a native american complete with head-dress.

It is very reminiscent of retina burn - the image left in your vision after looking at a bright object.

Thoughts?

From what I know about SP, it's not uncommon to see things after waking up. I haven't had retina burn before, but once I woke up in SP after a nightmare and freaked out because I couldn't move. I saw a hand reaching out at me while in my room, I struggled to focus/wake up/break out of the paralysis then I realized I was staring at my own hand raised in front of my face. Might be a bit different that what you're describing, though.

It makes me wonder because doesn't that happen because of light? Then again, the brain can do some pretty crazy things with the power of thought.
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

This happens to be sooooooooooo many times that it has become the new norm. I also awaken during the night and open my eyes after a vivid Lucid Dream just to see a light whiz by my eyes or see colored patterns, sometimes vortex like on my ceilings. It has made it an interesting part of this practice for me. I now purposely program myself to awaken after a Lucid Dream just to see what kind of residual effect is left over.

I've never seen a actual face or person there, but have heard some pretty strange sounds.

I think this is all due to the fact that we haven't quite made the shift 100% back to the physical again yet.

Just another one of the many wonders that this practice has brought into our reality!  :-)

If I'm in bed after a non-physical experience, when I lie there I almost always have some sort of image/vision that might remain after I've opened my eyes, though it's very realistic, not like an afterimage. I've seen all types of weird stuff: landscapes, walls, ceilings, china dolls, exit signs, the sky, strangers, a fireplace mantle, digital clocks... it's never really anything exciting or helpful. I've always thought of it as a small part of my awareness that's still perceiving on the astral level.

I suppose when I say afterimage... I mean that it's not local to the area stared at. In other words it remains in the centre of the vision as opposed to the area in the room. If you look around you'll find that it stays where it is in your field of vision... it follows around the room within your eyesight rather than remaining in the area of the room. lol

How many times can I say the same thing? haha

Yes this happens quite frequently as well. But not after a Lucid Dream. This happens after my conscious Phase sessions. I open my eyes and see that I have some kind of netting or screen in front of my vision or else my entire view has swirling masses of colors in it. I have to just sit in my chair until it clears up, since it would definitely create a vertigo effect if I was to stand up to quickly.

I feel the effect is enhanced in my Phase sesssions by the fact that i am conscious the entire time, with no blackout stage that accompanies the end of a Lucid Dream.

Yes... netting is a fantastic description... it can also be described as static white noise... or pixelated.

That just goes to prove that whatever and however we enter the state... with SP, through LD or phasing.. it's all the same shizz!! :)
