After having a couple episodes of sleep paralysis a few months back, my research led me to astral projection.

I feel like it is somewhat natural for me. I've successfully had an obe three times now, however, it hasn't been exactly what I wish for, I'm stuck in my house. Breif synopsis on each obe:

First one, I exited via roll out method during paralysis and vibration, but I felt so normal, I doubted my separation and went back to bed.

Second time, I exited via roll out method during paralysis and vibrational state. I felt like I was moving through molasses, and though I tried moving quickly away from my body I kept getting sucked back in. I repeated this probably four different times during the same paralysis, getting only as far as ten feet away. One attempt at separating, my legs got stuck! I was very clumsy.

Third time (and by far the most interesting) I became conscious in my bedroom after a four hour afternoon nap. I was just staring at the clock. As I started to move about my room, I realized I was dreaming. It was a false awakening. As soon as I realized this, my feet started floating upwards, turning me upside down. I closed my eyes and imagined the feeling of jumping off a swing, and when I opened them, I was right side right and was able to swim about my room (fly). I tried swimming through my ceiling, scratching at the crown molding, trying to visualize going through but nothing. Then I tried going through the window, but when I placed my cheek against it it just felt cold and solid. Then I woke up, and it was forty minutes earlier than the clock read in my dream.

Thoughts, comments, anything?

Don't ya just hate that?

These get easier with the practice of realising you are nonphysical. A really good way to test if you are out of body is to blow... if you are nonphysical you will find that you can continuously blow out air without taking a breath.

As soon as your belief kicks in.. it's hard to break. If you do get the 'stuck' sensation... forget about your room and making an 'active' getaway. The whole 'getting out' is just a metaphor.. .in reality you are already 'out'.

There are many things you can do to remedy this... one way is to reach out to touch something. Your nonphysical arm will stretch... when you feel something... grab it and hold on to it. Be passively interested in whatever you feel... and you will begin to 'be' wherever you are. Wherever that is. Try this as an experiment anyway.

This is a great example of how you don't really need an 'active' separation process... and that you are already nonphysical. This sounds like a learning experience... which every exploration is.

The next time.. you may be able to break through the self illusion of having to 'go through' a wall or an window. In nonphysical reality terms... there is no wall, ceiling or window. :)

I have a tough time going through walls/windows. Once I just imagined my window slide openable and got out that way! I was just so frustrated not being able to go through, haha. Maybe that will help you too as a short time fix. Congrats and I hope you have many more interesting and fun travels :)
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

Dreamshards

I have a hard time flying sometimes. I think because I have some doubts holding me back and I don't truly believe I can so I'm setting myself up for failure. This theory probably relates to you not being able to walk through walls. You kind of think that you might not go through it so you don't. Your over thinking things!

Bedeekin

You nailed it there Dreamshards.  :-)

Primrose

Yeah, next time I think I'll try the front door :)

ALL of you are still thinking physical world antics. Bedeekin has said about the belief kicking in, its a big NO outside the physical. You are already out and ready to have fun. There's no point tieing yourself down with physical impossibilities, you're free, fly by thought, walk through walls by thought, do anything by thought. You can easily change yourself into a dragon by thought.
Its a new world and a half, the possibilities are limitless.
Know you can do something then think you're going to do it and immediately the action takes place. Its so different using thoughts this way but its a natural part of each of us.
Have fun. :-D
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I like how you described flying as swimming. Mainly because I couldn't put into words how it felt, thinking of going forward was like slowly swimming towards the objective.
