My techniques won't work, What am i doing wrong?

Hi, i am a new time astral projector, and i have tried repeating a phrase, listening to binural beats and getting my body out of sync. However none of these seem to work... I have been trying for 2 months. Am i doing something wrong?

What you need is patience. Some people tries forever and the can't do it.
I'v tried for 3 years and only have spontaneous things happen to me. Dont feel despair if you'v only tried for 2 months. Keep on going and don't give up, try new stuff if you like, experiment, keep an open mind and it will happen in time. But its important to be patient.

what relaxation technique do you use and for how long do you do it for ?

Martin, i usually try to tense up my body then relax gradually from head to toes, and i am looking into meditation to relax

you should also include a breathing relaxation, breathe in slowly until you can't breathe in any more, then hold for a few seconds and then while exhaling relax  (exhaling should take at least 10 sec) and repeat about 50 times, then count 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 - 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 - 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 - 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 - 5 6 7 8 9 10 - 10 9 8 7 6 etc. and only count on the exhale so you are not focusing on your physical body. then make sure that you don't have ANY tension in you body, also don't even think about your physical body, and always Lie down with your body along true north. also you can have an OBE from lucid dreams which is probably the easiest way of all.

there i a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol is depleted throughout the day but then surges back in the early morning in preparation to wake you up. The interplay between cortisol and melatonin creates THE ideal sweet spot for OBEs in the early morning.

The best time to do it is at : 4-5:30am

During this sweet spot relaxation is easy because of relatively high melatonin levels and you've been relaxed for several hours during sleep. Alertness is easy because cortisol brings with it a rush of two other stimulants called epinephrine and norepinephrin. These stimulants are meant to help wake you up but you can use them for dream alertness instead.

At bedtime you're low on cortisol and melatonin. By the time you've relaxed enough to fall asleep your cortisol levels are so low you have virtually no chance of regaining lucidity.

I've come to the realization based on my experiences, is that expecting is what will make me not project. Expecting things to happen, in consequence when they do happen, I get excited cause I've been expecting that, instead of simply observing, being calmed, letting it go.

For me this two lines are the hardest part of astral projection. It is a real ability to master.

There are a bunch of methods .  I know this site has a free pdf book for down load .  This site has some methods http://obe4u.com/   There is the rope method where you visualize pulling your self out with a rope . There are some form DickSutphen where you visualize your self slipping out your feet or out the top of your head .  There is one from a book by Llewin where you form your astral body then join it .One I remember from Robert Monroe , you visualize your self swaying form side to side .   I have been trying for over 20 years , and I am still working on some other problems .  You try different methods untill one works .  desert rat

actually you don't visualize the rope, you feel yourself climbing it  :-)

 It sounds like you are starting by closing your eyes, then using what's called "progressive relaxation" to relax yourself. Then you start your Mantra, all of this while listening to Binaural Beats. Am I correct here?
These are the steps I used to learn to Phase by the method of "Noticing". It sounds like you are doing everything right, now is the hard part, LOOSE YOUR EXPECTATIONS. Keep doing what you are doing, keep writing down your results, but loose the expectations. Just "notice" and "observe" what is happening with an air of curiosity. ALLOW what happens to happen.

I remember one form you tube that used a candle .  There are  different    self hypnosis methods on cds . On the rope method , I just phrased it wrong .   desert rat

Sometimes the harder you try/force the harder it ends up being. Don't forget to take breaks from it, too. Sometimes the way to get the best results is to think about what you want to do throughout the day. Want it. Then just relax and let the desires rise within your subconscious do the work.

I'd say guaranteed.. if you are someone that gets to bed around normal 9-11pm kind of times.

The easiest avenue by far for me to OBE or find myself with Astral Awareness is through the dream portal.

Projection is really all about learning to forget about this physical reality.  It sounds incredibly easy, but takes a bit of practice. 
Also, I'd suggest working on Meditation to begin with.  Meditation will teach/give you the foundation *required* in order to assist in every other metaphysical facet you intend to partake in.  :)
