Numbness vs. Vibrations

Is there a distinct difference between numbness and vibrations? Before I casually sleep, whether it be at night or prior to naps, I never experience full body numbness. Occasionally (rarely), when I clear my mind and solely focus on having an OBE, my entire body will go totally numb.

I don't ever recall having vibrations, so I am unable to know the difference between the two sensations. However, last night, I had a brief strange experience. As mentioned before, I cleared my mind and focused on having an OBE. I would occasionally try to manifest images while staring into the darkness of my eyelids. After a few moments, my body went numb. This time, it was very different for me because the feeling was a bit more intense and I could slowly (very slowly) feel part of my self floating upward. I tried to see through closed eyes, but did not have any luck. After a while nothing was happening. So, I suppose fear came over me and I moved my physical body and opened my physical eyes.

So I'm stuck here wondering if I experienced vibrations, or if I somehow caused my body to go completely numb and simply imagined the floating sensations.

Are these feelings totally different? or do they ultimately result in the same desired experience, an OBE?

Just passively observe EVERYTHING that happens with an air of curiosity and move one. All these symptoms are "signposts. Not every one will experience the same ones and every time you attempt to AP they may change on you.
Loose all the expectations and just ALLOW what happens to happen.  :-)

So, when I experienced that numbness/floating sensation I should have just relaxed and let whatever was happening happen as opposed to immediately trying to think about OBEs and Astral Sight? I'll work on this. It can be difficult not to get excited or scared when your heart starts racing during these occurrences as well.

That happens to me, too,but I figure with enough motivation and persistence (intent!) I can make headway... at least at a bit at a time. And if not... hey, the road there is an adventure.
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

:-D surely it's an adventure. Last night got the numbness, god the floating, got the shrinking, and my heart started razing inevitable. I'm going to try not focusing  too much on it. By the way, last night the feeling got more intense than usual, by imaging my self laying down in the living room instead of my room; by imagine I mean being there; the feeling of the coach, the echoes of the room, the smell the air... And eventually, that shrinking feeling, that floating and so on, was waay more intense. Still I couldn't but notice it and react towards it.

Also, before getting those sensations, and just doing things as that, imaging my self somewhere else, or even letting my mind think what it want's to think. But once the feelings start, I can't focus in anything else... I mean I can focus, but, the situation it's: " 1) strong floating sensation 2) heart razing, my mind notice 3) Think about planting bananas in the moon's surface, WHILE my heart races 4) "Who am I kidding?  :-D.

Time, time, time!! and always enjoy every little bit you do or feel. That's all I can tell you!

You need to find a way to make your determination and will to succeed stronger than your sleep impulse. Sometimes if you get too deep, sleep will come. You need to find that balancing line between the two of them. This is where practice getting to this point is extremely important.

Why don't you just practice simple meditation first. Once you are comfortable with that, delve deeper. Try to do this in steps. Write down your results afterwards. The next time, push yourself further. Then further. Find out what it takes you to get to the launch pad. There is no race. If you rush it, you will get discouraged.

Take this as an experiment. Assign your project. Start your process. Log your results.

When I first began this I bought a Binaural Beat program for $100. Then I bought into a entire AP program for $225. Yes I did find success with them. When I spent that money I was showing myself my own level of commitment. This kind of thing works for me. I know myself and I know what makes me tick per say.

Each and everyone one of us knows what it takes them to succeed at something. You have to find that "drive", that "key" on your own. This is when the personal part of this process is so important.

We are all individuals and in that individualism we have different things that make us "tick". That help us to achieve things that we wish in life. Look inside yourself and find yours!

Yes...there is a difference between numbness and vibrations, I've experienced both in various ocassion's. I remember a lot of them in the past. But Eskimo, I think you and I have experienced numbness just a little differently. Yes I've been numb before, but so numb to the point that I can't move my body, so basically my entire body shuts down and I can't move a muscle. But I have the answer to why you could only feel this Numbness but not see it, Its because your soul was cleansing your body of old Vibrations, its kind of like a energy recycle, and its best to not move when your in this process otherwise your just canceling progress.

Anyways I was just saying that this could be one of the reason why your having this experience, but because i'm not you I wouldn't exactly know what it is your feeling.
