I was just wondering what hobbies and/or interests members have... Do you collect anything? Have any bizarre interests or take part in Cos-play?... Maybe you harbour a secret identity like a superhero... :D

Sometimes this helps people get to know one another on a different level.

Most of my interests lie in my type of job... film effects and art.

But I also collect carnivorous plants and love cooking. I also love faeries and faery law. I am the member of the Bat Conservation Trust.

I collect Hot Toys 1/6 scale figures. This is a new hobby and rather expensive... but hey.

I have loads of other interests and I'll post them when I see fit.

AteBits

Hehe, nice post. Well I am into Warhammer 40K painting and playing. Its kind of nerdy and expensive but I don't mind that. I'v been doing that for 15+ years now, currently painting up a Chaos Lord on Juggernaut (ok.. thats crossing the ned boundary :) ). Thats my main interest other than meditation and spiritual matters. Other things that comes to mind is that I'm a vegetarian, I like to work out, I read some manga and watch some anime and also I like gemstones and crystals and stuff like that.

Bedeekin

Interesting.. One of the guys I work with sculpts those. Tim Prow's his name... not sure if the sculptors are recognised and that would mean anything to you.

 . Nice post it is!.

I'm actually finishing my studies for sound engineering (post movie production). So we'll see each other around eh?.

Hobbies, I play this spanish instrument since I was 10 years old, "Cajón flamenco" it's called, among with two friends since childhood. Also I was just making a liquor this morning, from a tree from Spain also, called "Madroño"

Just made 2 liters of it, will have to wait 6 months for it to ferment though!.

I used to paint Warhammer stuff when I was a kid as well, god I did enjoy it

And also, listening to this... loving, nice music. Hope you enjoy it; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOvZjoiwJBc

Bedeekin

OMG she's awesome.!! Happy jazz!

AstralCody

Quite a bit really!

Spirituality is huge... Phasing, out of body stuff, everything that pertains to this site.

I love going shooting... I know a lot of people consider that destructive but I love target shooting. I kinda grew up around firearms. (Family is in law enforcement so I was taught at a very young age they are not toys etc) I own 13 of them. My garage looks like a barracks. I used to be into hunting. Since my OBE's though I really would only go if my dad or someone else invited me and I would have to eat it.

I enjoy nature... quite a bit. I love animals, I always have.

I enjoy working out, boxing in particular. I have a dummy that boxers use to train with and some UFC gloves. I put on some cool music and just get into the zone, and start my boxing. Lifting weights... etc

I love sitcoms. It's pretty much all I watch. That or cops.

I do ride alongs with the local police dept when I am feeling well enough. I spend a lot of time down there and sometimes help in dispatch since I used to work in there if they need an extra hand. I like EMS. Emergency medicine, anatomy, physiology, really in general how the body works.

I like going to see movies.

I REALLY like weather. I will stand out in the middle of a lightning storm and just smile. I love watching a rainstorm come through. I don't know what it is with weather... I have always been attracted to it. I will stop what I am doing to watch the lightning. I know I made a post of this before which is strange but I can actually smell a burning smell right before a close lightning strike hits. I don't know if this is normal, it's very hard to explain.

I am a big gamer... Mostly first person shooters or 3rd person games.

I like music a lot too.

Stookie_

I absolutely LOVE pinball. I know most people think it's a simple game of chance, but for me it's an awesome mix of computers, mechanics, physics, artwork, anticipation, & reflexes. There's nothing else like it. Getting caught up in a good game becomes a zen experience. A favorite:

I do a lot of classic gaming too, but pinball is greater for me.

I also really enjoy working out/lifting weights. I used to hate running, but over the past couple years I've come to enjoy it. I go biking and hiking in the north Georgia Appalachians several times a year.

And art. I'm currently expanding my capabilities.

I spend a lot of time outdoors, and this year I've gotten into gardening and beautifying my yard. I'm looking forward to next spring.

I'm also a movie buff, and now would be a good time for one of my movie threads...

Bedeekin

A movie buff eh?

I'm one by proxy. :D

...and I love them because they are fantastic.

I collect movie memorabilia... but with a difference.

Lightning and thunderstorms are some of my favorite things too. I remember growing up in Texas the thunderstorms there in the country were freakin incredible. There is nothing like though low grumble to lull you to sleep.

My biggest thing is food and cooking. I love love love to cook. I am saving my money to earn my degree in the culinary arts. I don't want to be a pastry chef but I find so much enjoyment in making the holiday desserts and everyone's over-the-top birthday cakes. For my father's last birthday I made him a double layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing in the middles then coated in chocolate genache and topped with assorted candy bars. It was actually good though it sounds disgusting.

I live in Utah but I have an extreme love for Oregon, especially Portland, and plan to move there when my son is old enough to be in school. Spending time in the mountains and hiking is something I also hold very close to me. There is just something so majestic about it and really gets me in touch of a higher reality and how we are so much more then what we think on a daily basis. I love to read (fiction, nonfiction, depends on the mood,) and write though I've been lacking in that area for a few years. Same with music. I play the drums but It's been years since I've owned a full set and had anywhere to play. One day though...

ChopstickFox

I love to sing, play guitar, and write music, hehe

I am guilty of cosplaying (though not often) or really just making costumes, especially for Halloween. Yay face paint! I particularly enjoy painting my entire body blue for some reason. I came to that conclusion because I have found myself in that state at least a few times a year.

I am a big Dungeons and Dragons nut. Usually I am the dungeon master and some of the players have a "multi-dimentional knowledge" check which I use frequently :) If their brains don't hurt by the end of a session, I'm not working hard enough.

I finished my first book a little ways back, but I don't know if It'll get published. The people who have read it have really enjoyed it, though. I have another in the works and a third that was ironically started before the others, but not revised/completed. Then there's a bunch of ideas that haven't been worked yet :3 Someday!!!

There's just not enough hours in the day to keep up with everything! I used to play a bunch of video games, but I stopped. Just sapped too much time. Funny, I'm neck deep into Portal right now >_> So much fun!

Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

Portal is one trippy game!

My Father loved Pinball as well. We had a couple of machines in our basement, along with a 20ft. electronic shuffleboard machine. Dad had the TILT taken out, lol. He would be playing the Pinball machine and rocking it all over the place. I was too young to toss it like he did. So, I learned to play it the proper way, lol.
In my teens I enjoyed Foosball (table soccer). My friend and I got pretty good at it too. We used to play in Tournaments all over the place.

I do have Magic Online as well. I own over $2000 worth of those virtual cards. These have been accumulated over 12 years though. I used to play quite a bit of Dungeons and Dragons in my youth.

I also love a good lightning/thunder storm. This year we had a storm, the Tornado warnings were going off North of us. The sky over us was clear, we were in the "Clear spot" of the storm which was the heart. We watched as a Funnel cloud went by North of us. The sky North and South was Green with Purple streaks. Then, the Tornado warnings went off South of us and again we watched as a Funnel Cloud went by South of us. Talk about the perfect place to be in that storm. Dead center in perfect calm. It was surreal.

But my new Hobby and true Love is helping people here to access the NPR while Consciously Aware. I was told last year that now is the time for people to awaken to their true potential. We can no longer sit on the sidelines and keep this to ourselves. Now it the time to share. This World is really made for other, not self and when you start living this, your entire outlook on life here changes in a profound way!  :-)

I'm a writer, or at least I'm trying to be, lol.  Currently I'm trying to get the book I'm writing, a science fiction-y type thing, finished before I got on to work on many other new plot lines for shorter stories.  Typical writer trait I suppose, my head is always so full of ideas that never seem to look as interesting for make quite as much sense on paper, lol.

A fair bit of effort and interest goes into the internet radio show I'm hosting, too.  Keeping an eye out for opportunities to interview interesting people, and keeping on top of positive news, an inspiration segment I like to do, is always interesting.  I've met so many neat people!   Most recently I've discovered that I love to play with sound engineering software, and I've been trying to learn that for the purpose of making openings and comedy sound clips and things.

I love somewhat amateur-ish photography too.  I'm always looking got interesting pictures to be taken.   My thing is mostly photographing buildings, bridges and, roads and railways tracks.  I edit digital photos as well, sometimes changes the colors and such.

Music is something I've always greatly enjoyed.  I'm always looking to discover new music I've not heard before.  I'm trying to learn to play the guitar as well, but I'm not very good at that at all thus far, lol.

ChopstickFox

LOL! The painting myself blue thing... People still call me Avatar at work because for the past few years I have painted myself blue and came as an Avatar in business casual for Halloween. I also made a Nightcrawler costume and I was blue again. I realized that I was developing a habit. >_> Guilty pleasure? Eh, it could be worse.

I also love thunderstorms...except when you're on the ocean. Then it can be a bit dangerous.

I love playing golf, fishing, hiking, camping, and just being outdoors. I've always been a big nature lover, and since I recently came across AP, everything I love about the outdoors has taken a bit of a different twist. Instead of just being in awe of the beauty of the world, I'm now also in awe of the way in which I perceive it, and how it may just be a crude copy of something even more profound. My love and apprectiaton of the physical world inspire me to work on being able to explore the non-physical, as I've heard and read that the experience is beyond words. I've had a taste, but nothing significant yet, although I'm making progress.

I also play billiards and am getting back into writing. I played classical flute throughout college and before, and was actually really good, but for some reason I stopped when I graduated in 2006. It's something I'll definitely be getting back into in the future.

I live in Connecticut currently, but have been feeling an urge to move back south to warmer weather. I grew up in Miami, FL, so the ocean and the beach and the palm trees are in my blood.

I have also just decided I will one day paint my whole body blue.

O geez it must be freezing there right now. I live in Utah where it is usually cold (but not this year), and I also miss the south. I grew up in Texas but might try a new southern state when I do decide to move back down south. Florida is on my list to visit.

Chaki

It has been unseasonably warm here lately, but still cold enough to warrant a jacket.

I used to get depressed in the winter with the cold and the darkness, but ever since pursuing my spirituality and changing the way I think, I've been able to deal with it well. The way I see it, living through months of cold and darkness make me able to appreciate the nice weather on a much higher level :)

I've always wanted to visit Utah. The pictures I've seen are absolutely beautiful.
