Hey people, this is my first post here on astralpulse :)

I came over Astral projection for about 5 days ago and I have practice daily 20-40 minutes, time past fast when I practice... I am brand new too both meditation and AP and I will get a idea how well I am doing.
The first three attempts I felt a very strange feeling going through my whole body after ~10 min. As I have read some books on this subject I continue without direct to much attention on this strong feeling in the body (It didn't feel like I was vibrating). Anyways.... Today I did my fifth attempt without success again. But this time I had my head pointing to north, not sure if its make any difference but it did. Now I didn't feel the strong feeling in my body as I did before :O What I have read this should boost the successrate.

Some other feelings I have is I cant almost feel my body at all when I have meditate 10-15 Min's, random jerks in different parts of my body and the time pasts very fast when I doing this. But I am not paralyzed but feels like I am very very physical deep relaxed. I am trying to achieve light trance and deep phys relax then for aim for the rope technique.

Also my heartrate is crazy high sometimes because I am excited feels like 120-130 BPM, trying to ignore it but it's quite hard.
I am trying to keep the strong strange feeling in my body because I assume it is a positive sign of some sort.

Hi SweP,
Welcome to  the Pulse.
Keep going and become familiar with these new feelings. Read the links Lionheart has posted. They'll answer some questions you may have on your experiences while learning.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Thanks, I have read it and it contains a lot of invaluable information :)
When I know what's happening I can also calm down and therefore decrease my heartrate.

Don't get frustrated, even after you catch yourself posting that you've tried fifty times and still no success.

A lot of people who have no success when they're intentionally trying will at some point project without trying just because they've devoted so much effort that their sub conscience never stopped working it out for them.

What got me interested was that I had two OBEs and had no idea what they were, but I knew they weren't dreams as I had been having lucid dreams for years. I personally like to project after SP because I am always more aware and my NPR is more vivid and easier to recall. In fact they are so vivid that some of them are memories that are as concrete as any memory from this reality.

After you have experienced SP a few times, you may notice, at least this is true for me, that the sensations seem to originate from your chest and stomach area. Hopefully somebody will read this and be able to better identify the part that I am talking about. But if you suck in your gut, the muscle that is doing the work is the one I use to initiate my SP. I tense it up first and hold that as I'm inhaling a deep, deep breathe. the sensations start pretty quickly. Before I do this, I usually clear my mind for about five minutes, and then I induce the SP at least three times until I am almost freakishly unaware of my physical body.

At this stage I am fully relaxed and aware but I am not yet ready to project. I've tried many methods but eventually I came to two on my own that work great for me.

The first, is that I imagine a beautiful woman naked. This is not in any nature a sexual thought, I am just admiring the body in my mind. Initially, I admire her face, then her neck, her so on, and so on. Then I zoom in on her arms and hands and her legs and feet, everywhere basically. As I'm picturing her left hand, I may visualize all her fingers but when I visualize her right hand I may not even pay attention to her fingers at all. When I catch myself paying less attention to the smaller details, such as her fingers, I know I'm close to falling asleep. Then I push the image away so that I am looking at her full body again, This is like an anchor. I do this over and over again until the next thing I' aware of is that I'm right next to her (usually much to her dismay) but that's my own insecurities and them I'm off. This works great for me because I am a very visual learner and I don't have to concentrate on exiting. I hope no one is offended when reading this.

The second way I get ready to project is that I recall a very painful conversation that I had with an ex. With my inner voice, I begin the conversation exactly as I remember it happening each time and then listen to her exact response as I remember it but I do not say it with my own inner voice, I'm just listening to her. Then I say the things that I should have said and as this conversation is playing out the way I wished it had, I suddenly become aware that I'm no longer visualizing it but I'm actually experiencing it. I tell her good-bye and then I'm off.

Hope this didn't sound like I'm too cheap to spring for a therapist but they work great for me. Anyways just keep trying and we'll see you in the NPR soon. You should already be noticing the benefits of clearing your mind and meditating at the very least so that should be motivation enough to keep at it.

Yes I have tried to change my mindset and say I am ok if I fail a houndred times I still get the benefit from the meditation. It also seems like I more easly get into the trance in the morning after I woke up, totaly clear mind and relaxed or after I have done a workout when I am very tierd. Will try this evening again. I am sure I am progressing someway or another.

My progress so far is I am going into the trance and aiming for the rope technique and after a few seconds I get a strange feeling in the whole body, no words for it sorry. After a few seconds I am back to "normal". I am trying to keep the feeling because I am sure it is some sort of a good sign to my goal. I have never had a SP but I have been so deeply relaxed that I have not feel some bodyparts.

Thanks you shared your techniques I am sure it will somehow help anybody ;)
