Astral Projection without the wake back to bed method question?

OK guys so my immune system has been really negatively effected every time I try the wake back to bed method. Meaning I don't get enough sleep while trying to AP with the WBTB method. Thus my immune system is really lowered. So I was thinking about trying to AP again without the WBTB method. Only thing is I am afraid any other way to learn AP is really hard, hence a waste of my time most likely. I know the WBTB method is probably very effective for most people. Please be completely honest.

I know we have all heard the stories of those people that learn to AP without the WBTB method, but I tend to think they are the minority.

BTW I have never experienced sleep paralysis. It's like I am either awake or asleep, no in between. Luckily I do get dreams sometimes and every once and a great while a lucid dream.

Any help would be great thanks.

Let me also add that it was not so much the getting up and going back to sleep that was so hard on me, it was the constantly being woken up by my timer that was probably the main thing, then trying to AP while I should have been sleeping. I brought the Lucidology series, so that is what I used. I am sure most average people would be fine using the lucidology series.

What do they say on the Lucidology website? Perhaps you can find your answer there!

Hard work pays off in the end. This isn't supposed to be easy.

If you think it would be a waste of time, than don't do it, Plain and simple!

You get back what you put into it. That's the HONEST truth!

You answered lionheart, so were cool right?

Yeah unfortunately we don't have any statistics. I did return the lucidology series, but I blame that on my health, and all the videos got deleted when my hard drive crashed. Bummer

Anyone else have anything to add the the effectiveness of other methods.

I guess if I knew that I had a really good chance of Astral projecting with other methods I would do it, even if it took a decent amount of dedication. I'm down for it if you all can honestly say that I do have a good chance at APing without the wake back to bed method.

Yes, we are cool!  :-)

I have to say I admire your determination. You first came to this site to learn April 25 2010 and you are still working towards it today.

You also know that there are a number of helpful "Stickies" to be found here, with many different AP techniques. I think you are reading them, but not applying them properly or at least not seeing what people are trying to say.

It really is as easy as turning the physical off and the NPR on. The problem and the hard part is, it can take you years until you learn to SURRENDER and ALLOW the shift to take place.

All the techniques and methods in the World that you read won't do a damn for you until you realize this. You have to go into it, at least for the first time, with a mindset that if you don't come back, so be it. Are you ready to do that?

Lionheart gave you a very good honest answer.  You have two options that you can do.  You can try to ap when you wake up without the timer.  That way you have had plenty of sleep.  The other option is to try to ap at night time.  The only problem with that is you have a higher chance of falling asleep.  Be in a position that is not too comfortable for you.  If you are too comfortable you are more likely to fall asleep.  I would try both options.  I would keep practicing even if you do not succeed.  I have practiced for many months without aping.  Try not to get discouraged and keep trying.  There is another option, you can have a nap during the day then try to ap.
If you think it will be a waste of time and will not work then it probably will not work.  I used to be able to ap a lot in the mornings when I had many hours sleep.  I believed I could do it.  When I put my mind to it and think I can do it, I usually can ap.  It is very important to believe you can ap and you will succeed otherwise it will mostly likely be a waste of time.

LOL lionheart I gave up Astral Projection some time ago. Though I still research it since I know it's real.

Astralsuzy I actually do end up waking up and switching beds so I kind of already do a wake back to bed, but I go directly to sleep without trying to stay conscious. So ill see. I almost feel like I need to give this another shot. I'll see.

I have no fear of the astral at least.

I'll tell you what, if I do end up trying it again, I will do it for real. I was very serious about it when I was doing it before.

PlasmaAstralProjection

OK so has anyone been successful without learning to AP mostly without staying conscious while the body goes to sleep?

Thanks.

Yes,I was APing even before I knew what was happening. This was in the period when I was focused on dream recollection and the techniques in order to achieve this. In fact I've never had a projection using the techniques while awake,Ive always been asleep and then suddenly been aware that my astral self was loose from my physical, role out and then explore .
Until the last year and a half id had no projections for maybe 20+years,why?because I stopped practising and wasn't focused on it. The last year and a bit I have been focused and have had lots of experiences.
Perception is everything, because you think you see it, does it mean its true?

Xanth

Have you ever been sitting there daydreaming?   Then realized for a split second that you were no longer where you thought you were?   Then the very moment you realized it, you snapped out of it and returned?

That's phasing.   That's projection.   And you did it without your body being asleep.   :-)

Sounds like your a natural at it to a degree. Thanks for your input.

I'm thinking of using supplements and medications to help me lucid dream, then I can just convert the lucid dream into an OBE. No matter what happens I am sure I will have to put in a lot of hard work regardless.
