No, I have not had any help with other APers.  In my circle, they would not believe that the possibility exists.  I have tried to speak to two very close people to me about my experiences with astral travel.  I received silence and disbelief.  The only one I can think of who would have had the intelligence or open mind of this possibility would have been my father.

I tend to tell anyone I take a shine to... actually anyone to be truthful. I take a shine to them if they want to know more. If they have a problem with it then that is their prerogative. Although through years of telling people I have honed it to a fine art.    I usually start off by telling them that I lucid dream. This is much more palatable for people to chew on. It doesn't jar any belief-centric phobias people have and most people are actually interested in dreams and telling someone who appears genuinely interested about their own.

Some people hear through the grapevine that I have OOBEs (this is at work by the way)... they will at some point cosy up to me and ask about it. Nearly everyone has experienced Sleep Paralysis in their lifetime... so describing SP usually works. This will grab their attention because you are discussing something they have probably never talked about because of the fear of ridicule. Then I usually give them instructions on how they can achieve OOBE.

Basically... I groom people. HAHA

Exactly the same for me, chellebelle. I know one person who got it, other than that I've only ever got negative responses from people, I'd love to have someone to share stuff with but meh. Though I can't say I've ever been as tacful about it as Bedeekin describes. I don't tell people any more though, and on the occasions I do talk about it, I just don't bring up anything to do with first hand experiences.

Well, hell, chellebelle.
I mean well,hello,chellebelle. Yep, most of us find it's not the best thing to tell others. I'm from a really close and loving family. A really close,loving, and strongly religious family. I could get to the point and say that my family is devout Roman Catholic. I should have known better to tell them about all this but sometimes they trick you into thinking they are tolerant. Well, not in my experiences. At least they haven't asked me to be exorcised. Not yet. 

If you keep an open mind you'll find a lot of info here that will line up with the way you think. A lot will contradict it, as well. That's why we need an open mind. Enjoy.
