Almost phased during meditation

I started meditating a few months ago and started by doing 20 minute sessions twice a day. Recently I have been doing 30 - 40 minute sessions.

This one in particular that I did today was 45 minutes long.

I started the meditation by doing some basic breathing techniques and then just relaxed and noticed for the rest of the duration.

Towards the end I was all of a sudden "seeing" (not with great clarity) what I remember as me flying through the air and holding some device in my hands. It was about the size of a DVD player, but it had 2 handles on the ends which I was holding. In the middle was a small screen and it was playing some scenario (like I was watching a movie). I looked at the screen and it started getting bigger and taking over my vision as I was entering the scene.

Then I realized this was happening and I got a nervous feeling in my stomach which immediately stopped the experience and brought my awareness back to my physical body.

I'm not sure why I get scared I've had plenty of OBE's, but I haven't had one from a totally awake state yet and I think that's why

Phasing is different than a standard awaking in a Dream with SP, then projecting, due to the fact that in Phasing you are normally consciously aware for the entire episode. There isn't a disconnect like there is with an OBE. Disconnect being a loss of consciousness.

You feel every sensation or sign post, you see every little bit of hynogogic imagery.

The key is to PASSIVELY OBSERVE it, to SURRENDER to it and ALLOW it to take place.

This takes a lot of mental control and practice.

Thanks lionheart, I will try and just observe it next time, but the nervousness came so quick there was nothing I could do at the time. I just need more practice like you said
