Dycfer

Hey, this is my first post and I wanted to share with others and ask a few questions, so without further ado, here's how it was yesterday:

I've been reading about astral projection and finding out how to do it for an hour or so, then around bed time, I turned the TV off, pictured me watching my body, trying to let my physical body fall asleep... within 3 minutes (I think) I started feeling my whole body vibrate (like electricity) and I guess I heard blood flow in my head or something... it wasn't as loud as I was expecting it to be, but I got timid and purposely awoke, because I was afraid of the fact that I could get lost, and the fact of knowing I wasn't in my body scared me a little bit. I woke up with a rapidly beating heart and I was a little freaked out.

Question time!
1: Is there really a string that connects to my body?
2: If I decide to go to someone's house, will I actually see what's going on, or just what my imagination tells me?
3: Could I get lost?
4: Could other astral's come into my body while asleep?

Thanks guys!

Welcome.

1. Not that I can speak of personally.
2. A bit of both
3. No, not under any circumstance
4. No, but if you remain open to that possibility, you may one day perceive it to happen.

Good questions. I kept the answers short and they are only what i personally believe. This is a journey that we all have to decide for ourselves but certain facts and truths remain so even if we don't believe in them. Think about that.

Good luck and keep exploring.

Was this the first time you ever tried to AP ?

How exactly did you  "pictured me watching my body, trying to let my physical body fall asleep"

1. No
3. No
4. No

Dycfer

Yeah, it was my first time

I read somewhere, just picture looking at your body from the outside, so I did. Apparently it worked

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse!  :-)

My answer to all 4 questions is the same. If you believe them to be true, then they shall.

Your belief creates your reality!  If you believe there is a magical cord, then you will see one, this one though has been reported by a number of people and even Authors of AP have written about the "cord". If you believe you can go to another's home and see what's going on, then you will. If you believe you can get lost in the NPR, then you will come back here and post a story about not being able to find your way back and that you were lost. If you believe someone could inhabit your body while asleep, then once again, you would be here posting about an entity taking you over.

You stated that you had read that if you picture yourself from the outside that you can AP and "presto" it worked.  Once again belief trumps all!  :-)

Its_all_bad and Martin have answered you according to what they have experienced and that's where their beliefs lie as well.

Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Hey hey Dycfer! :)

First of all the rapid heartbeat is seemingly a very common occurrence with the first few experiences. I had it when I began experiencing Sleep Paralysis and remember my heart leaping out of my chest.. not figuratively... literally. Actually saw it. It was an SP hallucination of course.

1) Yes.. it's called your spinal chord.

You meant the silver chord... I know. I've never noticed one with all and and any experience I've ever had. I don't believe in it and started OOBEs with no prior reading material so didn't even know it was supposed to exist. This will tell you a great deal.

2) It depends. When I started my remote 'visits' were very accurate. As I got older they became less accurate. This was because I started reading material that told me otherwise... so I started believing what I was reading. I started doubting and became mush more interested in the nonphysical 'realm'.

3) Yes... try finding your house when 100 feet in the air. Unless you studied google maps off by heart you may find it very disorientating. On the other hand... you will never really get lost because you are always 'here'.

4)  No.

I said no to number 3 because I think he was worried more about getting lost during an OOBE and then never being able to find his way back to his body. So to me, that is not possible under any circumstances.

But of course anybody can get lost in their perspective during an OOBE.

I didn't even look at anyone else's answer.

3 confused me and it was the only answer I could muster.  :-)

When it comes to the nonphysical... to be lost.. one first needs to know where one is. so that sort of didn't enter my head.

Normally people say 'will I be able to get back to my body?' which yeah.. YES is the answer... and NO to your specific question. You will spend most of the time trying to stay 'out' before you ever worry about getting 'back' lol

Sorry if that's what you meant Dycfer. I thought you meant lost in a RTZ OOBE because it followed from Q2.

Isn't that the truth, haha!

These have been answered more than efficiently, but I wanna join in on the fun too!

1. I always read about one, but I've never observed one. I think it's up to your belief!
2. It all depends on what you expect and the rest is just up to checking it out and seeing for yourself! Mine vary from very accurate to barely recognizable.
3. Depends on how you look at that question, but no. Bedeekin's answers rings true, haha!
4. Like possession? No, you are completely safe :) Nobody's gonna have a house party while you're gone.

Didn't you realize that we are competing for best answer prize? To heck with helping people, I want a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart. :-D

You asked
QuoteQuestion time!
1: Is there really a string that connects to my body?
2: If I decide to go to someone's house, will I actually see what's going on, or just what my imagination tells me?
3: Could I get lost?
4: Could other astral's come into my body while asleep?
As best as I can answer
1: Yes to some, No to most. What I mean is that only about 5 % of people going out of body actually See the silver cord. (Whether it still exists and is not seen by most is another question).)
2. Probably. There Are such a thing as Reality fluctuations, meaning that sometimes you will only see things happening in the ethereal/astral plane and not in the material world, but that is unlikely.
3. Yes, (I have been 'lost' many times while out of body) but eventually you will return to your physical body and wake up.
4. My understanding is that a 'walk in' can only occur With Your personal approval and possessions are Very rare.

Hope that this helps  8-)
