Does anyone else prefer doing this at night?

I find when I'm in bed in the morning I have more distractions than anything, which includes the potential of sleeping in, having sleep in my eye, wanting to turn over and go back to sleep, wanting to get up and check my emails and generally do what anyone else does when they wake up in the morning. I find I'm relaxed more when I get into bed when I'm tired at night, my eyes want to close rather than me putting effort into my muscles, I have all the time I need and I can safely fall to sleep if I want to know whilst knowing I'm not going to wake up at 3:00pm or even 4:00pm.

Anyone else feel this way when it comes to astral projection? I'm not saying I've actually consciously done it yet, but I find that I think I have more of a potential to do it at night than in the morning. I still haven't tried waking back to bed yet, I don't think the alarm works on my phone and I keep going to bed at daft times like 4:00am which makes it a bit confusing because people usually get up at 9:00am, not go back to bed.

I usually practice projection at night before I go to bed. But that's because I'm like you...I find it difficult to focus in the morning right after I've woken up. Although, I do find it is much easier to enter the vibrational stage in the morning, it's just that I can't keep my focus and I drift off to sleep again.

Although it doesn't seem to matter when recently... I invariably did it at night, before I went to sleep. It was a WBTB method but the back to bed bit was about 3 - 5 hours after the wake up bit. I would nap in the evening, anywhere between 7 and 9pm for an hour or so then later about midnight to 3am I would induce.

I rarely did it in the morning... mainly because I would want to sleep, even though I would only do so for 3 - 4 hours.

I find that I have more success after I take a short nap. No more than an hour or so. It doesn't matter what time though, day or night. Projecting after a short nap is always easier because your just naturally closer to that zone or "sweet spot". I know that's a generic description and there's a medical term for what I called the "sweet spot" but I never researched it technically speaking.

I almost don't want to say this but I think there may be some value in it...I feel that if I had done as much research and reading about projecting techniques as some people here do, I think it might have hindered my initial success. Don't get the wrong idea though, this forum is absolutely the best thing out there for us, I think. No matter our experience "level".

I went with the bare essentials. That is to say that I waited until I was just a little tired and then I slowed my breathing down and visualized a place that I wanted to be. I imagined the sights and sounds as well as interacting with a few people. I just created some dialogue with my inner-voice and faked their responses. Naturally I would lose the rhythm and start the scene up all over again but I faked it till I maked it. Nice word, huh?

But the most important thing about choosing the time of day or night to project is that you are able to relax and slow your mind and breathing. You're well on your way. Good luck.

I try a night, have success in the morning. o_o Hoping I'll be able to hit it off at night too, hehe.

I NEVER want to get up in the morning, but I have the habit of waking up several times before I get up. I'll either fall back asleep right into my last dream or gain awareness and either AP, dream, or whatever happens.

Or just get stuck in a loop of false awakenings, haha.

The only time I astral project is at night or early morning around dawn. It is when my household is quiet. Plus I am least apt to get interrupted by a household member.

I noticed that I have got more success in the morning but I find it difficult in the morning.

I experience the same thing as well. I awaken in the morning, but go though a series of awake/asleep and usually will go back to my last Dream or just find myself in a new Lucid Dream.

Besides that, I do a Phase Session once in the afternoon and once at later at night for now. When I am travelling vending in my Renaissance Faires, I usually just do the one Phase Session in the evening.

One time in a Motel in Kansas, we had the window in our room open for air circulation and it was very windy outside. Everytime the wind blew the curtain opened just a bit, that outside light flashed right in my face. This constant flashing in my eyes caused multiple Lucid Dreams that evening. Probably more than I have ever experienced before.

What role did you have in the fair? A seer perhaps?

No, I create and sell Handmade Dragon Sculpture named Elemental Dragons.

Being a Seer is only something my close friends and some family members know about!

That's interesting, I have a ring in the shape of a dragon that my father found at a renaissance fair.
I wear it almost everywhere :

I should have realized this is not something you would exploit for money. Then again, I wouldn't consider it exploitation to help people and make a living at it. I hear you.
