Can you use visualization to control where you are projected to? I have tried myself, but I usually make more progress if i let my subconscious take the reigns. I've heard people take about this a lot. But can someone give me some instructions or maybe just a personal example? Do I use visualization from the start of a session and carry it all the way through? Or is this something you implement once you have reached a certain frame of mind? I have a hard time visualizing scenery early on. But people I can see clear as day. Should I focus on that?

I know many use visualizing for taking the focus away from the physical. Personally I have better luck with mantra when it comes to that. Any ideas? :)

It's all about the intent. Most of my experiences I leave up to my subconscious in a kind of "whatever I'm meant to see this time" way. But I know it's possible to intentionally go places.

I would think that visualizing would play a nice big role in all that. But the big point is the intent, wanting it to happen, and believing it will happen. I wouldn't be able to write instructions, though. :/
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

So maybe it's a matter of having that deep down conviction of 'I want to go here. I will go here.' :) I'll try it! Thanks, Chopsticks!

It definitely helps having a really good plan as to where you want to go or what you want to do.

I am very much like you though Amorda.. I like to see where the current takes me.

My main goal in meditation/AP is to get to know myself and navigate the thoughts I never knew I had. Maybe even experience something and bring that experience back to the physical. So I figure if the is some sort of higher being or consciousness, it will lead the way. I just have to sit back and take it all in.

If you wish to take a joy ride of sorts, then create an intent and go. When I begin to Phase, I always use some kind of simple visualization, just to loosen my physical focus. But once I know it's time and you will definitely know it's time, I then either create an intent or just trust and observe.

But if you wish this to be a "learning" opportunity, say to yourself "By my act of Will, I release my focus from my physical body. TAKE ME to YOUR desired destination. SHOW ME what I NEED to SEE, TEACH ME what I need to LEARN".

Then SURRENDER and ALLOW what happens to happen.

I visualize those capitalized letters when I say this statement, as fading into the blackness/depth before my closed eyes.

I use both of these, sometimes I just want to go and experiment with something I already have in my mind. Most of the times though, I just SURRENDER TO and ALLOW my destination to go where it needs to at that time.

Just the other night, I left a projection and I had to get back there. I tried forcing it but that didn't work. I would phase into different settings and my mindset didn't allow me to just project into the place I needed to get to. I was being stubborn for the sake of being stubborn. I finally just surrendered like Lion explains and then it happened.

There are just too many exceptions to say that there are any hard and fast rules. But if you want to phase directly into a certain scene, you should have a very clear image of the place. If not, you can wait and project from a dream. This is usually the easiest way. I have been letting many of my dreams play out normally lately. We get so conditioned to gaining our awareness that it can actually hinder us from seeing what we just need to see instead of interacting and changing the course so to speak.
