Hello everyone, I'm Sam. I am new to this site and have found it to be very informative when finding information I need. Its great to know people are there for others.

Ok, well. I started AP on November 2012. I haven't successfully done it yet, but over this past month I have had some serious improvements and signs of nearly doing it.

I'll keep this short and sweet for everyone. (I hope this helps you out just a little bit)

My preparations I've been doing recently

Progressive muscle relaxation: The tensing period for each body part is 5 seconds long (What I do anyway, else I get cramp if its any longer  :-P) Then I apply this to my whole body. Starting with my feet, twisting them in a circular motion, then my calves, working my way up to my thighs. Tense my abdomen, chest.

Clench your fists, bend your fingers back (not too far :-P) What I like to do is, cup your hands together so each finger is touching the opposite hands knuckles. Then rotate slowly this for me, really relaxes my hands. Then just work your way up through the body, face, jaw, arms etc.

Deep breathing

I'm a huge fan of Steve G Jones, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Astral Projection Expert. I've got his "Explorations beyond the body and intensive training system" he does really well when relating to the person who's listening to his program.

Anyway, Steve has a track on the program called "The Art of Breathing" and this is what I use.

"Take the tip of your tongue and push it against the roof of your mouth, just behind your front upper teeth" "Inhale through your nose to the count of 4, hold your breath to the count of 7 and exhaling to the count of 8" (while maintaining the tongue position) "This is just one repetition, I want you to do 4 repetitions in total"

(I personally like to do it a lot more to get into deep trance state, please stop if you feel light headed or dizzy, begin to breathe at a normal pace if this happens) although, im not 100% sure if dizziness or lightheaded is actually an AP symptom?

There are many other preparations I do which involve visualizing, white light, cleansing cylinder, kundalini activation, chakra opening etc. like I said I want to keep this short for you people. I recommend having a listen at Steve's program. He covers all of this.

My Near APE's!!!

Ok, so Steve in the program also has a "Delta Track" which I've been listening too every time I practice AP. Off the top of my head, I think Delta Waves produce a deep dreamless sleep and a loss of body awareness. (correct me if i'm wrong)

So I'm listening to this and have done all my preparations, an hour into it I am in a deep meditative trance state. My astral body sits up and I start roaming the house and focus on a certain object in my home that you can easily recollect (bearing in mind i'm not out yet, just visualising)

All of a sudden the "Delta Track" i'm listening to, LOOPS! It replays the same part of the track about 5 times. (Not an error in the MP3 i can assure you) it loops!

(Forgive me if you think I may be patronizing here, but I'm only trying to express how it is )
Imagine someone saying "Projection" but they only say "Pr-Pr-Pr-Pr-Pr-Pr" that happens, then my vision behind closed eyes becomes so huge. THEN, the track starts to fade away! Almost to the point of not hearing it anymore.

After the track starts fading, my heart rate goes astronomical. I mean, my heart was beating at insane amounts per second. Try counting to 10, within the space of 2 seconds. That's how immense it was. Unbelievable. (theres still more!)

The vibrations were also at a extremely high level, every single receptor in my body was just surging with energetic vibrations, my spine kept flowing with energy, the flow of these vibrations was just incredible, everywhere was throbbing with energy.

So, I embraced these symptoms, I was really enjoying the sensations actually, (apart from the heart beat, that was crazy) but I didnt get out, so I  turned off the track and went to bed.

Thank you all for reading, Samwell

Welcome to the Pulse Sam. I think your well on your way and will be reporting success soon.

You may also be surprised to know that people have been monitored while they feel the sensations of a rapid heart beat and in actuality, their heartbeats have slowed.

Thank you  :-) I hope so, not long left now!

Wow that is interesting! Why do we feel that extreme rapid sensation when it is actually slowing?

Hello and Welcome to the Astral pulse!  :-)

I own Steve's Explorations Intensive Program as well. His entire goal with his different techniques is to teach you how to get into a deep relaxed state. This in turn makes it easier for you to attain and hold a good non physical focus.

I don't use his breathing exercises because I found that focusing on my breathing, causes me to kind of hyperventilate.  :-(

But, I use his progressive relaxation technique quite a bit, I really enjoy that one. His mental clearing tech is pretty good as well.

His Binaural Beats extended version MP3 is very good too.

The only thing I really didn't like about his program was that it paid too much attention to the physical body. I did use his technique to learn how to get up and walk around, but I got bored quickly with just being in the RTZ (Real Time Zone).

I prefer to just Phase by turning the physical off and just shifting. It leads to outer destinations, instead of my immediate surroundings.

It sounds like you are doing great here Samwell. Keep up the good work!  :-)

Embracing these "sign posts" is very important. But, don't get too excited, that seems to destroy that session quickly.

Learn how to passively observe them with an air of curiosity.

I used to ruin my sessions when I felt the onset of vibrations or heard the Astral sounds, then I would tense and say to myself, "here we go". I found that I went nowhere fast, lol.

Then I learned to just observe and once I was successful, I was still told to observe while in the NPR (Non Physical Realms/Reality), by my "mentor/guide".

You will find many helpful Stickies here that explain other techniques here as well. They are the threads in BOLD BLUE letters.

Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Szaxx - Thats how slow it actually is when we're practicing/doing AP? Thats interesting, certainly did not feel like 46, felt like the 90 bit  :-P

Lionheart - Thats helpful, I try to embrace rather than get excited, but I know im "that" close so I end up getting excited! Need to practice this :) Which Binaural Beat is it again?

Thanks everyone

In the 12 disc program there is a Exploration Intensive 30 minute Bin Beat and an extended 60 minute version as well.

His Binaural Beats MP3s are among the best I have tried yet.

Keep in mind that there have only been a few medical studies conducted on OOBErs that I am aware of so the data is really inconclusive but what isn't these days.

Many people attribute the rapid heartbeat sensations to just another sign of their astral or etheric body separating from their physical.

I do not personally subscribe to the belief that I am separating anything from my body. I view it more as changing my focus and becoming connected to a higher consciousness system. I know that I am mutilating someones work when I claim that but I really don't know how to state it any clearer or differently.

I still have the occasional OOBE where it seems to be perfectly clear that I am in fact leaving my physical body but I see that more as just an ignorant mind that has to try and make some sort of sense of everything so I am interpreting it as such.

It has taken me many years of experience to see it like that and there are many that have far greater experience and knowledge than I and still view it as an actual separation. In the end, it really makes no difference other than for academic purposes.

That rate is when the noises were well developed and the images were stncronized with them. Another 2 mins and I'd have been somewhere other than this physical.
AZ I too recognise the shift as not leaving your body as such. You just phase into a constructed scene then join it. In my earliest days though, I did actually see myself floating up and out. I had to wait until the physically dark room became light first. Then it was a controlled thought or sequence to get through the bedroom window and float down to the garden gate. Then I decided where to go.

Yeah your right. However you see it doesnt make no odds as long as you believe it can be achieved

Last night I had a really frightening dream. The dream was about me AP'ing but later turned into a lucid dream, then just towards the end it became controllable. Will post it tomorrow.

Although, im not sure. I dont want people to become scared, because this was something really really scary.

Let me know if I should post it or not as the last thing i'd want is to manifest fear into people.

I'm personally not fussed now, just at the time was pretty shuck up.

Thanks for tolerating with my BS again haha

Much love, Samwell
