Scientific Theories Debunked?

Homeopathy is the biggie that stands out to me. Science can easily verify a lot of its validity if their wasn't financial money telling them not to (Phizer, Wyeth). To put this in the same debunked category as sheep growing from a tree is an obvious attempt to discredit something that works for millions of people and has been an effective ploy for many other things.

I don't care what science says, I know the sky is blue because smurfs like to dance in the clouds. The sun reflects off of them and..... You're all intelligent, I'm sure you know the rest.

Unfortunately that's what Debunkers do. They just mass everything together under the same "label" and hope no one notices!  

They have been  doing the same thing with UFO sightings for years. You will find a instance from a credible source, like a military General etc. and they debunk it because they have proven that some kid with CGI knowledge, made up fake video. To them, they have proved the kid's was a fake, so the General's is as well.

So knowing you know you know, is knowing enough of what you need to know, so you do know what you know.
Therefore not knowing and thinking you know you know is like not knowing but having a guess anyway. Those in the know, know you don't know you know you know, so tell you to shut up and make a cup of tea.

Perfect sense to me.

The ideas discussed in that article aren't really "science" per se, but rather superstitions or medieval myths or random speculations of antique peoples.

But yes, there are some need tidbits.

The "tree-wool" thing I can vouch for firsthand, because that is the German name for cotton, and I think the source of those mistranslations.
