Hi,

I'm new to this forum and so I would like to share my experiences, and I also have some questions.

This morning I was dreaming, and from the dream I remember lastly that I had my travelling papers and tickets on a table in a lobby, and now they where
stolen. Just after that I found myself staring up at the wooden ceiling in the room I (was actually) sleeping, but I also remember, that I didn't understand why I was in my room.
I think that my mind was still dreaming, thinking that I should be somewhere else.
Then I realized that I had a buzzling sound in my head like the sound of the wings of a hummingbird, and very intense.
Question: Is that the sound of the vibratory state?
I also heard distant sounds, that I can best describe as being in a hall with sounds coming far away, maybe like distant prayer sounds or people, or some machines but not really that
maybe more like a disorted version of that.
Question: Could that be the sounds of the Astral?
As I had realized that I probably was in the vibratory state then I tried to separate, as my body was like paralyzed. I tried several times to get my head up and out, but I couldn't
- I guess it's hard to do it with eyes open and looking, as I was :-D. After trying for a minute, I felt a shift in awareness and I was awake.
I like to add to this, that last night I have used affirmations like "I become aware in my dream". Normally I never use such affirmations, because I like to be able to project from trance.

I'm trying to follow Steve G. Jones program, and I'm trying self hypnosis. I have currently reached a state of the feeling of floating a couple of times. And I also have flickering eyes some times. I'm using hypnosis because I want to be aware all the way.
Question: Do anyone know these state, and do I have to go deeper before trying to project?

I have become interested in the subject, because of some experiences I had when I was a kid. I remember several times being in a state where I would see
something that I can best describe as a growing mass of these oval flamingo pellets that you pack fragile stuff with.

But one experience stands out where I walked around my parents house for maybe 10 minutes fully conscious. But it was like I was drunk or seasick finding it hard to walk straight. I also remember being
so unstable that I would flip around with my head down for a moment. Also everything was greyish, and I remember being unable to open a door and unable to wake up my parents even though I was crying or try to make noise at the end of their bed.
Question: Does this sound like the astral?

So that's a little about my experiences so far.

Thanks to anyone that will answer my questions.

Hello DanishGuy and Welcome to the Astral Pulse!  :-)

It sounds to me like you are doing great here. I own Steve's program as well and have found success with it.

This link here should explain a bit more about Sleep Paralysis and the symptoms attached to it.
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/everything_you_could_ever_want_to_know_about_sleep_paralysis-t38734.0.html

Projection all has to do with control. Controlling your emotions, your anxiety and just allowing what happens to happen. It doesn't necessarily have to do with any certain "depth". You just need to learn how to release your physical focus and then you will find that all that's left is the non physical. Well, with a bit of a transition period between the two of them. Kind of like a "Neutral Zone" per say.

Everything that you experienced sounds to me like the Non Physical Realms or Astral as you like to call it.

If you have anymore questions, we are all here to help!

Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Hi Lionheart,

Thanks for the info.
I have som more questions for you then as you seem experienced.
Do you use hypnosis to astral project? and if so what is your procedure and how long time does it take you to project?
In Steves program he only puts in 5 minutes to achieving trance to be able to project. Is that a question of training in self hypnosis to be able to do it that fast?
Is all the preparation work that Steve puts in really important in the beginning when you don't even know how to get to the state of being able to project? - I feels it takes a lot of time each time and has not much point if I can't get to the vibratory phase/separation phase.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

I use the words I release my focus over my physical body in a affirmation when I first begin a phase session. Some would say those are words that are common with Hypnosis. But, actual Hypnosis as a intended technique, no.

With practice you will be able to get into a trance in 5 minutes too. It all has to do with turning the physical off and allowing yourself to just be.

All the prep he does prepares a new person to learn how to once and for all turn their physical focus off. He does this by using positive thinking, as in his filling the cup, then vacuuming it out, until there are no negative thoughts around. Then teaching you breathing, shows you how to learn how to focus for an extended amount of time. His Binaural Beats (which I find to be some of the best around), also help to ease your mind and switch your focus away from your physical body. His techniques for "climbing out of the body", well, those are self explanatory.

He is not the first one to teach this. He is rehashing many things that are found already in books on AP. But, he does give credit where credit is due and I respect that in him.

Most people go to him because of his field of experience, which is Hypnosis. They feel they can't do it on their own and need a professional to help them. Of course they are wrong, they can do it on their own. It just takes practice, patience and perseverance to achieve your goals, as it does with any new skill you wish to learn.

I will tell you one thing though, if hitting the vibratory stage is your goal, then you won't go much further with AP. That shows that your focus is still on the physical and you don't AP while you have a physical focus. You need to learn to meditate, then allow what happens to happen. Keep a updated journal on all your hits and misses as well. That will become very valuable, especially in the beginning. You will also find a good journal will help you help others that may have the same questions you once did, some day!

Pay it forward!  :-)

Hi DanishGuy, welcome to the Pulse.
Your walking around in a greyish world unable to do some things takes me back a long time. My earliest memories of night time were full of these nearly every night. I learned to master the moving around in no time at all.
The noises are normal too. I still get these and can control what sounds I hear too.
You are doing fine with this too. Be relaxed in your experiences and have no fear of anything. This will aid you tremendously.

Many thanks to both of you for the helpful answers. I will try to follow your suggestions.

About fear.
Steve talks a lot about negative "enteties" that you should avoid in the Astral plane. From his material you almost get the impression that there's enteties waiting to grab you as you try to project.
What is your experience about this?

Also sourrounding yourself with the white projecting light as Steve and also William Buhlman talks about.
Is that something that should be done everythime you try to project?

Thanks & regards

If you have any need for a white light defense weapon it makes you vulnerable to your own thoughts or fears of some entity out to get you.
I'll agree there are some bad attitudes out there and these do play with your emotions. The facts as I have seen, these that toy with you are self generated entities. Your fears of not wanting to meet something bad, actually manifest them.
The amount of people on various sites and in books through time all say the same thing. ' You need to face your fears'.
In doing so the subconcious will not create any thoughtforms to react with you as this misleading proposition of baddies everywhere, doesn't exist.
I am speaking through 50 years of experiences. I started out in the RTZ and never was challenged by anything other than my own thoughts. Recent experiences disregarded, at no time was there anything that had a mind of its own with a personality that I didn't know, attempt any terrors or fearful restrictions. Those that did were all part and parcel of learning.
I do say to many ' you can only scare yourself'. This is the truth.
It formed patterns long ago and I worked with them. If you suspect some dark entity around the next corner, guess what? Thoughts manifest.
It's the same thoughts that you use to guide yourself. The same thoughts that allow you to move any object without even touching them. The same thought you have of changing a mountain into a beach.
You can simply read the thoughts of others in most cases and with enough experience, obtain everything they know in a second.
So what does this say about the reality you could visit?
You travel wherever with the purest of mind and deep compassion, giving respect to where you are at. Know you are safe and then nothing can influence your mindset.
Basically being fair and firm with yourself, having faith in yourself and buckets full of good intent will get you to many places. Some you will not want to return from.
It's there to be experienced. Don't go looking around packed like Rambo. That would be a bad thing to do in the physical  you already know.
The NP you may not know, it's far too fluid to predict the outcome.
Wit and quick thinking outdo any physical world type of weaponry.
It's a no brainer.

I truthfully believe that Steve talks about negative entities because he hasn't had enough Astral experiences himself personally to see that most of them are of his own creation.

He is a Hypnotist who has found that he can use his Hypnosis techniques to aide others in finding the Astral. But it has become a business venture with him, not a passion.

He teaches people about the negative entities, because that is what many people see there. But, most of them are their own creations. If you believe white light will help you, then it will. It's all in your own personal beliefs.

I have never encountered negative entities. But, I have been in and have witnessed other people' hell, during Retrievals.

I have to laugh at all these Ghost hunter shows, where they show the people hunting the Ghosts in the middle of the night, with all the lights off. My question to them is "Where are all these Ghosts in the Daytime?". Do they just wait until the night time to come out and play? LOL

I hear about all this evil that lurks in the Astral. The only evil I see is what mankind produces here in the Physical. You can always leave the Astral at will, just open your eyes. Here, you have to learn to deal with it on a physical level!  :|

I use my own version of a Tetrahedral Shield, but that is only because I am so empathic. I do this everyday in my real life when I know I will be around large numbers of people. Like at my shows. This just keeps other people's emotions from interfering with my own.

Hi Again,

My plan is to practice selfhypnosis with binaural/isochronic tones before I go to sleep, and then listen to Steves trance training recording as I fall to sleep.
I believe that I'm auditory when it comes to hypnosis, and I have reached a state of floating where the feeling of my body seems very weak, so I think I'm on the right way.
And I'm also training body disaccociation methods like affirmations.
I try to fit this in a busy day with long work hours and children, so the best time for the training is when the children sleep in the evening.

I can hear that you are both very experienced, and so I'm curious to hear what your most used technique for astral projection is?

Also, how is your view of life and death changed as you started astral projection?

I feel I would like to ask you a 1000 questions about the subject, but I guess I have used my quota for now :-), and I need to do my own experiences.

Thank you both again for the warm and informative welcome.

Update on my progress so far

I REALLY need help :|

Yesterday I worked on getting into trance and got to a point where my heartbeat got really fast and that made me stop and abort the trance.
It took me 45 minutes to get to that point.

When I practiced today I focused more on the "falling" sensation that someone on the forum provided tips about and I must say that it speeds the process of getting deep int trance up, whith this rollercoaster
like method. It's like going from a top with a rollercoaster to the bottom and doing this a lot of times with pauses of maybe 15 seconds.
My whole session was only 35 minutes today and believe I went deeper, because I managed to ignore the fast heartbeat and took the rollercoaster a couple of times more and then the throuble started:

My body started bending and muscles startet moving by themselfes. In the start it felt my whole body was bending inward but I was able to keep my focus and then it got worse like my body was uncoiling from the inward.
Lasly it felt like I has like a epilepsy attack with toh whole body was with cramps and spasms and I got worried about my health and I tried to wake up, but that took a little ekstra time this time, because my muscles was more paralysed.

Here an hour and a half later I still feel my body kind of numb and I'm shaking inside.

Please help with this because I'm worried about my health. Please tell me if this is a "normal" part of the trance? - or beginner experiences?

Sign posts come in many forms. It can be sounds, tactile, visual. Bedeekin's thread on Sleep Paralysis goes into this pretty in depth. I have already given you the link to it above. Did you read it? If not, go back and read the entire thing.

I feel for you, this is can be a very frightening and harrowing experience. We have all been through it in some way shape or form in the past.

You can experience rapid heart beat, temperature change, a shrinking or growing sensation, a wave motion, etc. But, the moment your fear kicks in, it becomes a terrifying experience.

Many of the great authors on AP say that you must have a attitude "that if I don't come back, so be it". This attitude is the ultimate answer to confronting your fears.

If you can't get over this, you will not progress any further. It is a way of your subconscious mind trying to see if you are ready or not to pass this test. If you are ready to see what lies beyond.

Read the entire thing. I know it is a scary thing to overcome/confront and I feel for you. Near the end of his thread, I post a experience that I had with SP that I had to confront as well. It was well beyond the growing/waves/ sounds scenario. See for yourself.

Here is a great video to watch as well. It's by Tom Campbell and is a great introduction to what you wish to achieve. Once again watch the entire thing, then do it again and again. the more you watch and "hear" what he is saying, the more it will sink into your subconscious and conscious mind. Doing things like reading books, watching video, reading entire threads, etc. may seem tedious and a bore at time. But it is beneficial for success with this practice. Do the work and reap the rewards.

There are no shortcuts. It all has to do with changing your mindset, which in turn, changes your reality!

Look at it this way. Did you wake up on the floor with your bed halfway out of the window and the door to the room halfway into your ceiling?
No!
Don't worry then, it's one multiple hallucination. The heart racing I still get on occasion, It's actually beating slowly but it feels like an orbital sander.
The noises I've learned to control. The early days of thunder, screaming and that spooky voice shouting "get out of here" were all made by myself. I wasn't aware of this at that time and shouted back something fitting. I wasn't going to be put off by anything. Now its a different matter, I control them.
You have doubt at your ability and are seeing this manifest. Get rid of it!, you are doing exactly what I keep telling everybody. YOU ARE SCAREING YOURSELF.
When these things appear say to yourself " Meh, whats next, a kitten of terror goin to get me?" Then laugh it away.
Your fears and doubt are in your subconscious, this you cant control, however, you CAN influence it and that's all you need to do.
Have faith in yourself and all this goes away. It's like walking outside on a cold day. You wear a coat or freeze. Your problem is you're not wearing a coat and it's extreme cold.
Its a personal battle of mindset change. Win this and you'll never look back. Exhilaration is around the next corner.
You really are so close to leaving it all behind and the new worlds are waiting.
Go for it.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Thank you, both for the information.

I have read the section about SP and more on the net. And I will watch the Youtube video to learn more.
And it looks like that it cannot really kill you or is dangerous. Only unpleasent like hell (for me this first time).

So now my plan is to go and experience it again and again untill I become OK with it.

I have no fear from it, not even when I experienced it. But I did more like worry if it was dangerous in some way, and because of that I decided to abort.

Nothing related to Projection can kill you.  Get that thought out of your mind, first and foremost.  :)
You'll be fine.

EVERYTHING related to Projection is a natural experience which humans have simply forgotten how to do.  We've become too "physical" minded in the past thousand years...
It's as natural and safe as falling asleep each night of your life.

DanishGuy

Thank you, Xanth for that. That's what I needed to hear.

I should say as well...

In my opinion, there's more danger leaving your house each morning or simply getting up in the morning than there is with consciously venturing to other realities.
I'm not saying that it's 100% safe... I'm saying that as long as you're venturing out with Love as your Intention, then you really have nothing to worry about.

Use your own moral compass.  :)
