Dream of a crystal (I assume this is the place)

Last night I dreamt I was in darkness, and a crystal appeared. It had bright colors emanating from it, and a peaceful reassurance washed over me. I remember reaching for the crystal, but that is where memory stops. I now have the desire to buy a crystal.

I knew I forgot something. I was wondering if anyone could share some advice and/or knowledge of this experience. Thank you in advance =]

I have had crystal dreams before, however, I doubt that I could figure out what yours meant.

After thinking a bit more, I wonder if the darkness represents the unkown future that lies ahead, and if the crystal represents guidance. I wouldn't be surprised if this is true, because I recently started a new life.

The darkness is a reflection on your subconcious.  It also says ignorance or not knowing things is what you prefer. Ignorance is bliss.
The crystal however is a good thing. It is your higher self. The safe and pure feelings from it show you are on a quest to improve your inner self. You need to learn a better way in life and are on track in doing this. The colours represent various aspects of self and show you will work these out as you go.
Your change in lifes circumstances has driven this dream to show you that doing as you are the ignorance of not knowing will swing around and make you aware of many things you never knew of.

I can try, I'll do more research on particular crystals in dreams. I know more on their reported healing abilities at present.
It may take a short while to do though. That depends on the required info and how much is reflected in the dream itself ( its feel).
Be clear in how things made you feel. This helps greatly in the interpretation.
Most of the answers you already have, they may become apparent after reading an interpretation. They put you in a different frame of mind by singling out each part and where a mix is dreamt the interpretation usually hits the mark quite well.
