Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has had success using guided meditation during attempts on phasing. If so what were the benefits, increased focus? Deeper relaxation? Please let me know, thank you very much.

The benefit would be that you only thing you don't have to worry about is crafting the scene yourself.
Just follow the guided portion as best you can.

Put all of your effort into creating a basic scene using the descriptions given to you.
Your consciousness will fill in the blanks as you go.  The more it's filled in, the more you know that you're doing fine.  :)

Thank you very much xanth I appreciate your input. I think I'll give that a go as a sort of training wheel for myself. I've been given wonderful information from Lionheart so far that has helped greatly and will now certainly keep in mind what you've said during guided sessions.

He's a fine teacher.  No doubt about that, you lucked out.  ;)

There are a bunch of self hypnosis cds, dvds , mp3s , from Robert Monroe , DickSutphen , ect. in new age stores , for down load off the net and some are on you tube .
p.s. There are also binaural beets , I can post more if asked.

Decided to also put this question on this thread so I didn't have to start another already. During each of my attempts and practice for phasing my tongue always goes completely numb, it's strange because it is the only part of my body that this happens to, it's never happened before, and it happens only while I am practicing. Does anyone know what this may be caused by or why it is only my tongue that goes numb?

Interesting thread Mattjones. While phasing, your tongue goes numb. That's very strange. The link shared by Lionheart will help you to find the answer of your question. You should read it.

Contenteo calls it "the Novocaine effect"!

To a large extent it depends on you.
in order for guided meditations to work well, you just have to give in and let that little voice playing in your head be yours.
let it be your will and go with the flow.

Imo, yes. there is increased focus.
you have to have intent to do so as well though. if you go into it being like "Oh this is bull it's not going to work!" then the most likely scenario is it won't, and you'll delete the file and probably will make the assumption that all the other guided meditations do the same.

deeper relaxation - o0o0o yeah :)
here's some effects i've felt from various guided meditations and hemi-sync / binaural beats.

Various effects through guided meditation / hypnosis -

1 - full body vibrating, starting off low, and then becoming pretty intense and high. high frequency.
2 - the feeling of my arms and legs bending upside my head and twisting in ways that are physically impossible.
3 - No longer having the feeling of a body, but a giant glob of pudding. that was probably the most comfortable one, o it was so awesome. like a relaxing ecstasy so to speak :) just felt so great.
4 - motion sickness. no feeling of any body, just motion sickness
5 - the feeling of being in a violent ocean ( large waves, as if you were just floating there. )
6 - Being 10 feet tall, while lying down in my bed (well... lying on it with legs hanging a few feet off of it)

Guided meditation is really all i could use at the moment, as well as hemi-sync binaural beats. live in a terrible apartment for noise.... every time a door opens i hear it. oh, the neighbors are talking? i can hear it. o hey a car drives by!! yippe i love how effing loud it is ! <3_<3 . jk of course. i hate it.
but a fan left on, or having ocean or rain nature sounds playing in the background lower then what you have on your headphones seem to help drowned out the sound.

You don't want to be disturbed while doing this.
your focus can become "what was that noise? oh no i broke my focus! but should i check on what that noise was? etc etc "

that's odd, i tried to project 2 nights ago and my tongue went numb as well. as if a doctor had froze it ...

Any recommendations on specific guided meditations and hemi-sync / binaural beats that has been used successfully?
