Hi all, this morning I ap.   I was with someone and he said I am taking you to the police.   I have not done anything wrong and I have never been in trouble with the police.   It did not make sense.   When I woke up I thought that came from my mind.   That was not real.   How do I stop things that are not real?   I think it happened because in another forum they talk a lot about astral police.   I guess it stayed on my mind.

First, let me ask you this:  What is real?  Whatever you *experience*, is real.  But that's not what you're trying to ask.
I think what you're trying to ask is: Where did that experience you had originate from?  Internally (you) or externally (outside of you).

You answered your own question.

To stop your own mind from creating while you project is to ground and center yourself emotionally... and to not react emotionally to that which you experience within the dream.
When you keep yourself grounded and centered, you remove the fuel your consciousness provides to your surroundings.  What remains after that is an experience external to yourself.

Doing this is much harder than it sounds...

Thank you Xanth.  I might be asking a basic question but I do not know.  How do you ground yourself and center yourself emotionally?

Not much info to go on but if someone told me this in an experience I'd guess they're looking for help.
Why be worried if you'd done nothing wrong?
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

:)

It's as much of a non-physical action as it is something you can do while physically awake.
Consciousness is consciousness afterall.
