Hi all, I can ap when I have had a few hours sleep but I want to ap when I lie down without getting any sleep.  If I am determined I do not fall asleep but the problem is I do not ap.  I do not try to ap if I am already tired.  After a couple of hours I give up.  I think if I am determined enough and keep at it I will eventually ap.  The idea is I want to train myself to ap so I will be able to ap when I want to.  Do you try to ap without getting any sleep?  Has it worked for you?  What do you think of my idea?

Ha... ok... so you need a 'pre-sleep' or a 'nap' before you can project.

This is what I have been saying for a long long time.

Problem is... it's not true. I thought this was the case but it isn't.

You need to learn phasing or use meditation instead of SP to enter the nonphysical.

Over the last week or so I have come to another paradigm change. This being that SP is the product of a pre-sleep and the OOBE is entered consciously using the REM sleep configuration. Non-pre-sleep doesn't create a conscious SP experience... but can be entered using Meditation or 'Phasing'... same thing.

So your idea is great methinks.

After a few hours of sleep I get up out of bed.  I go into another room and I lay down on my back.  I listen to the sounds of the wind and ocean on my CD.  That helps my mind to relax.  I am not comfortable on my back.  It is harder to ap on my back.  Then I move on my side which is a lot more comfortable.  I have to concentrate.  If I do not concentrate I will fall asleep.  I can ap a lot that way.  I am going to go back to that way.  It is better to ap sometimes than not at all.  At the moment I am not aping as I am trying to ap without getting any sleep.  I am going to try both ways.  Most of the time I will get some sleep first and other times I will try to ap without sleep.  If I try to ap in bed I am not determined enough to succeed.  When I am in another room I try harder and I am more successful.

yea phasing and scrying are done most easily after sleeping but can be developed to the point where you don't even need to lay down. That takes a lot of work though. .. you read in some of the old magical works of people working on it to the tune of 8 to 12 hours a day.  I've been only able to do it after a nap or sleep period but I've come really close during awake times... especially when working backshift.  But I can get right to the line as long as I'm not mentally tense.

I don't think you have to put in THAT much time but I do think a couple hours work a day on it is probably a good idea initially especially since in our culture we tend to not believe or connect with the spiritual side of things very well.

Hi all, I am starting to ap without sleep.   I must admit it has been a lot of work.   I have been meditating most days of the week for months.   I keep telling myself everyday I can ap even when I do not succeed.   There are problems such as not aping at all or I fall asleep.   I keep reminding myself everyday to concentrate and ap.   When I do not concentrate I fall asleep.    If I am tired  I want to sleep.   Tonight before I went to sleep, I laid on my back.   I was meditating for a while but nothing happened.   I imagined that I was at the beach but it did not work.   I turned on my side a bit.   I tried not to get too comfortable otherwise I am most likely to fall asleep.   I was meditating and I waited for ap to happen and I did.   I felt myself moving out of my body.   I felt as though I was being carried away by someone.    Unfortunately I got startled and I woke up.   I have to work on that.   I would like to ap lying on my back.   I can do it but not very often.   it is a lot easier to do when I am lying on my side.   The down side is there is a greater risk of falling asleep.   That is why I keep telling myself everyday several times a day to concentrate.

more focusing away from your phisical body when meditating.

Xanth

Yup.  You'll need to Meditate.  You'll need to master your mind.

To be able to shut off your physical perception almost at will.  This isn't easy to do, because this physical reality and our senses are designed in such a way to KEEP your focus here.

i bet your triyng  to actively enter the dream instead  keep focusing on the images  and visulize away from your body,at the same time the trick  is the timing.

I realise everyone is different.   What works for one person may not work for another person.   It may sound strange but I have learnt I have to concentrate on how my mind and head is feeling.   If I do not notice how my mind or head is feeling, I fall asleep.   By being able to notice how my head or mind is feeling is a good indication that I am about to ap.   When my mind starts to relax I ap.
