have you ever tried calea zacheticci or something like it, its called dream herb, unofficially. It's supposed to do the same thing, heck, might even be the same thing. I was just curious if you've had any luck with it.
thanks,
Wonderboy

I haven't tried calea I have to also inform that "wild lettuce" Lactuca virosa botanical name is illegal only in finland (finland has made many herbs illegal even salvia divinorum for example).  The only thing I like is this herb works and its cheap.  They say calea works the same way but I think wild lettuce is even better it only costed me like $8 for a pound of dried herb I checked calea zacheticci costs $58 for 1/4 pound.

yeah I tried calea - and I'll tell you it stinks!
I don't know why - I've looked in other forums which deal with psychoactive plants and it didn't seem to work for them, either. Supposedly, Vitamin B5 (or was it 6?) in copious quantities makes you very very lucid (or at least increase dream recall).
Back to calea ... where was I? - oh yeah: it stinks!
I tried 2 kinds of "administration"
1 - smoked it: blech! on it's own much too strong and dry. with tobacco more smokeable but doesn't do anything.
2 - made tea: oh my god! I've never tasted such a vile brew in my life. It's the most bitter thing in the world to drink. As soon as one drop of that stuff hits your mouth, the bitter taste spreads all over it and you'll want to vomit. No single addition (like other teas, sugar, etc.) will make that particular taste go away. The best way when you drink this tea is to let it cool down a bit, clamp your nose shut with your fingers and down the whole concoction in 2 or 3 big big gulps. But it doesn't really do anything either.

So in conclusion - I haven't found a way to make calea work. And it's expensive also.
Someone once suggested that there were 2 kinds of this plant, one that actually makes you more lucid and another that does nothing. You never know what you get.

phew

so that's my take on calea zacatechichi

wild lettuce I have to try ...

Thats the reason I don't like those herbs calea or salvia divinorum they're gross you can't drink them as a tea you have to smoke them and in high quanttiies so it can go directly to the blood stream not damaged by the stomach acids thats another thing I don't like I rather have something I know works in capsule/tea form and only drink in short quantities 1 tablespoon.  All these calea/salvia herbs they try sell them as legal highs or something what a joke because sometimes they may/may not work or not work at all plus they are making a killing profit because really why should it cost $58 for 1/4 pound herb whats so special about that herb than any other herb to harvest it?  Wild Lettuce is good I hear st. john worts is also another strong calmer along with jamaican dogwood, passionflower and hops haven't tried these ones yet but I have tried scullcap/valerian/salvia/gotu kola so far wild lettuce is producing more results and its amazing for me to be aware of all my dream sequences and each dream sequence 6 in a row to start off in my bed man if  I can do that all the time it sure will beat conscious obe because how many times can one conscious obe as a beginner?  Also one can work towards making those obe's realtime obe's and not have much obstructions in the way ie stress.

Should I even ask what "Wild Lettuce" is and where to get it?

Calea Zacatechichi is a highly respected oaxaca dream herb, and i find the best way to use it is by making a tincture of it with brandy or everclear alcohol. i have had success with this enhancing ability to dream, the herb is also used for clearing. Peace

Very interesting thread. I have to say I've never tried any herbs. But I do know of a folk tale that Mugwort can induce lucidity in dreams and the likes. Has anyone ever tried it? Though I hear it's toxic in high quantities.

Ash

hey weagle,

this is interesting. what kind of dosage are you using?

ravenmoonmyst

 DREAM TEA

2 parts rose petal
1 part mugwort
1 part peppermint
1 part jasmine flowers
1/2 part cinnamon

not to be used on an everyday basis, if anyone decides to try this let me know how it works for you, as for myself it puts my mind more at ease (hate how i do not worry about things untill i lay down at night(sigh)and induces a higher state of physical relaxation then i normally would be able to acheive.

It's just a common weed (Lactucia?). It can grow up to 7 feet tall, often has a spiny stem, milky sap, yellow flowers, with puffy white seeds. Grows all over North America. It's supposed to be as effective as opium, and the sap can be harvested and used in the same way. Called "lopium". It's supposed to be chemically very similar but milder and less addictive. Probably, if it's so similar, they're just saying it's safe, because it's legal.  Also, you would have to use almost more leaves than you could smoke; there's not much sap. (Small amounts did nothing for me.) Native Americans would have to drain a whole field just to get a good wad.

No need to smoke wild lettuce as the opiates it contains are water soluble, simply make a tea with it and drink half and hour before going to sleep..... the more you take the stronger the effect, reliable and safe.
Lots of others you can take too but I like this one.

Calea works wonders if used right.  It tastes nasty though so it is best to grind it up and put it in capsules using some kind of capsulator.  If I take 2g's worth, that night I will have intense dreams and become lucid a few times, If i take anymore I remember way too many dreams and its hard to piece them together in any kind of order.  Also enhances hypagogic states greatly.

is there any other herbs you can buy in a store that help I heard St johns Wort helpes any others..

They weren't joking when they say that this herb can make you lucid a lot.  The first night I didn't lucid at all but the second night I was luciding like crazy whats amazing I had control over it and even remembered all 6 obe/lucid sequences where I was in my room coming out of my body 6 times in a row.  It really puts your mind in a sleepy/drowsy borderline state for a few hours.  It was wild because it looked real like I obe'd but it also had people I know in it so it was part obe part dream but I had full control of it, for example I said the moon was going to crash towards earth and it did or I said the moon was going to move back and it did.  It feels like I slept for hours I wasn't really tired slept only 3 hours and had 6 obe's/lucid sequences in 3 hours and remember them ALL!.  Just wanted to report this, I thought gotu kola herb was the best I would have some obe/lucid's with this but this is the best its called Wild Lettuce you can buy some at herbco.com or other places on the iternet just put one teaspoon  and boil it steep it out, I think you can only make it as a tea not in capsule/powder form.
