why out of body?

this has actually been asked a few times in other forums i believe. just as some people was to grow physically, or intellectually, some people want to grow spiritually. astral projection opens up tons of things to you: the opportunity to visit any place in the universe instantly, access to the anything and everything that has happened in past.. and i'm sure it feels great, too, to separate from your body, but since i'm just starting the program this weekend (never ap'ed) i wouldnt be able to describe that. but theres of plenty of reasons to do it.

Hello Imora,

For me one of the primary reasons to want to OBE, is to proof and see for myself that my consciousness exists independently of my physical body.

To be able to OBE opens up a complete new dimension, to be explored. A dimension similar to dreams; with the difference that you are aware and in control (to some degree?), like in a lucid dream.

How fantastic it is to be able to fly at will, to move at incredible speeds, and experience wonderful things; which you would have never experienced when you don't project.

Me personally?

I started a long time ago.  I am not a totally bad person but the church teaches you that even if you think it it is a sin.  I was worried about what happens to you when you die.  I saw a movie about NDE.  I went to book store and got a couple of books on NDE.  Well in one of the books the lady mentioned having out of body experiences as a result of her NDE.  So I went out and bought a few books on obe.  So my first reason was to learn out of body so I could meet god.

Why not?
I think, for me, it's purely for the fun of it, for the thrill, and i think also for the knowledge i might gain of myself and the universe.
My ability to do it is laying there, so why not use it? If it's going to provide me with something fun to do, new things to see, etc. i'm gonna go for it.

I hear a lot of what, when, where and how of OBE but not much of why.  Why project out of body?  Do you want to be a healer, or combat negs, or just want some phychic abilities?  What are your motives?
