An AP from a Dream?

Hello everyone one out there, last night I had an interesting experience I'd like to share but first Considering how little I've posted here I might share a bit about where I'm at. Well, I've been attempting to learn Ap/OOBE & LD off and on since 2011. I can say that since 2013 I've had 12 plus lucid dreams, one WILD ( yeah it was wild :P ) and 2 Astral projections in February this year both of them after an afternoon nap and both very short and indistinct anyway thats another story......
Its hard for me to put into words how strongly I feel about learning/mastering these skills. I feel as there's another world so to speak right on the edge of my fingertips so near and yet at times so far away. so MUCH to learn and experience yet for me it feels as if there's not enough time.

So last night I decided to practice my ap/Phasing techniques after the WBTB technique. Now I've tried that one before but usually its, wake up while peering groggily around for 5 minutes while convincing yourself you're awake enough before slipping back into blissful oblivion. Kinda funny hey haha.
So I woke up at 4:45 AM and read a book in my dad's library for half an hour and then hopped back into bed. Did all the relaxation, hit the trance state ( or the Novocain state according to one poster here ) fairly quickly and for at least an hour it seemed Attempted different techniques such as the Rope, Noticing, putting your awareness out of your body etc etc...Now all the techniques seem to work in regards that they generate all kinds of interesting energy surges and vibrations ( not THEE vibrations ;) ), and the occasional hypnagogic imagery but nothing really much else to note. ( I should mention here that the two projections i did back in February were after a nap and it seems for me thats the key ).   Soo....that early morning I decided to roll over and go to sleep and see what would happen....
First dream I was with my Dad and Older brother we were up a very tall Gorge with water below us. I was contemplaing jumping off the cliff to the water below. It was at least 50 Meters! "Hmm," I thought. "Thats high! Oh wait I'm dreaming," So I leaped off the cliff. A sensation of falling jerked me awake with more interesting sensations in my body, a weird buzzing noise in my ear off and on and a weightless sensation. Then I drifted into the second short dream....
This dream I'll keep short cause its pretty boring really, I was the Captain of a ship. My Father was back in the 'Capitol' and wanted me to sail home and take over there ...blah blah......I awoke here and my Heart Chakra was really fired up. I've felt this before in my meditation and AP practice. It feels as if your heart is beating 200 beats a minute, quite amazing hey...

NOW, my third dream for the morning which I think i AP'ed from goes as follows,
I dreamed I was in our family Car, a Toyota Land cruiser Troop Carrier. My two sisters and two brothers were in the car with me. I was seated up the back. My Older sister and brother were up the front arguing,  my younger brother was holding his ears to not hear them. Dad and Mum were up the front driving. SO, in my dream I laid down on the seat and went to sleep ( don't remember doing that in a dream before ha ) then something 'touched' my awareness and i consciously rolled of my dream body in the car. I was to a great extent consciously aware of....well me. Now, I had no visuals, I couldn't see anything, I know from my research that I had to get away from my body so I crawled to the front of the car feeling textures as I went. I thought to myself as my head hit the roof. "I can go through anything I want!". So i stuck my head through the roof of the car, still couldn't see anything but I could feel the wind on my face quite refreshing! I said "Have to teleport away from your body Raymond." ( yeah I know my body wasn't in the car but I was still 'awake' and aware of things ) So I visualized and teleported myself to the property I grew up in as a teenager about 8 years ago. It looked real right down the the time of day! Heard my Mum's voice coming from inside the house calling for my Dad. Anyway so I was outside the house looking around and wondering what to do. I told my self, "you should try and create/change something." So i looked down at the cement path I was standing on next to my house. Yep, there was the patch in the cement my dad had put there 15 years earlier, I  was going to imagine symbols and numbers on the cement patch on the path ( looked a bit like mirror ) but as i started creating a symbol on the cement my VISUALS went again :(. So i knelt down on the path and felt the concrete. It worked and my sight came back. Then I though to myself, "I should get back to my body". So I visualized and willed myself back to where I thought my body was in the car. Then i woke up.....

Now this is interesting because as soon as i went back to my dream body its as if I went back to my real body back in bed? Let me explain why I think thats what happened. My body was paralyzed for a good 10 seconds. It was quite hard to 'wake up' and I was very disorientated. I spent a good while trying to figure out where I was, I didn't figure it out until I managed to move my limbs, pry my petrified eyelids open and peak around the room. That doesn't happen when i wake up after an ordinary dream or even a lucid dream.

Thoughts anyone?

Hello Raymond,

Projecting in and around an afternoon nap can be effective for many people. It is somewhat easier to find that balance between physical tiredness and conscious awareness and experience the necessary mental state.

Finding that same mental state with the WBTB method requires recognizing and tailoring certain variables to your personal situation. The first is to experiment with how long you initially sleep, ranging between 2-5 hours. Next, is how long you stay awake and what level of activity you engage in. Personally, I find the minimum is 20 minutes and usually 30-45 minutes helps with lucidity and length of OBE. Activity should include some light physical movements but nothing strenuous; likewise, some mental activity like light reading is good. Finally, and very importantly, you should not lay back down in bed. Try propping yourself up into a semi-sitting position or go to another room and kick back in a recliner. Again, these are suggestions and you should experiment with them to find what best suits you.

Concerning your dreams that night, I think you displayed excellent awareness, observation and had significant insights. In the first dream, you recognized that you were dreaming and then had the confidence over your fear to display the fact by jumping. That was a key realization.

Next you had what was to me a symbolic dream that tells me something about you; what do you think that was?

Then, in the final dream, if your level of awareness (lucidity) was very high and you had these realizations clearly, then yes, I think this qualifies as a true projection (a DILD, I guess). And to have these realizations in the sequence you did and all in one dream was an indication of excellent progress! Whether it was in a dream or otherwise, you realized you could exit your body, then you had the confidence to pass through a solid object, next you shifted your environment, and finally you had the knowledge you could create/change something, which you began doing.

Nicely done!

Escape,

Thanks so much for your feedback, I appreciate it. Hmm I might give the afternoon nap one a go whenver I can as well as the WBTB in the early hours of the morning. I definately havn't tailored whats the right time for me yet, have to experiment with the different variables to fine thaty 'sweet' spot hey. I've allready worked out that i HAVE to hop out of bed ;) I stayed awake in bed with the light turned out this morning convincing myself that the extra Melatonin form having no light might help me. HA nope. It make me to sleepy it seemed so tomorrow morning back to, Out of bed - lights on - and reading a book for 30 min.

I'm generally keyed in on my dream symbology and what it means but that second dream, the meaning eludes me...anyway. Escape, I wouldn't say that my lucidity was very high, I'd say it was high.
The difficult part for me its getting 'out there'. It seems once i'm 'out' ( Phased ) I have a fairly good amount of control eg. teleporting, going through objects etc.

ARrggh, I know a lot of people can probably understand what it was like at this stage where you've had a small taste of NP realities and you want so much more! But the majority of the time you practice and try to reach out its like smashing your mind against a brick wall! Oh well Rome wasn't built in  day hey.

The message of your second dream was a very simple one, yet a great indicator of your state of mind, at least in my opinion: You are the Captain of your own ship. You are in control and you know you are running things.

Beats finding yourself naked in front of a crowd about to give speech! :-D

Give yourself some time, you are doing great!

The trick to finding the right mindset is to go ahead with the speech anyway!
