The whole thing just sounded stupid to me .  Its hard to imigon a guy staying still in a suit while he is being eaten by a snake .  I can see him and the snake ending up dead , just to make a t.v. show .

Like those scientist that want to find the philosopher's stone in medicine to make us younger and physically almost immortal.
Yet none of them know the true valors which are important for a civilization and none know what the earth and the sun truly are.
For us, who are hooked on our spiritual enlightenment and evolution, this is basically a gift to us to make us understand even better what is important.
We see the valors degrade in people's hearts and it shows us just how much it's important to have some.
What are they gonna do when they find the philosopher's stone? Not much, they gonna cruise around in their starship gathering minerals everywhere until they accidentally mine a region where it's forbidden and get blasted to dust.
This is inevitable at the stage we currently are, it's just a matter of time.
And being immortal doesn't mean anything if you are not enlightened.
Besides, unless they stick back to their valors, they'll probably blast their own ships fighting their own people lol.
I don't think God would approve people living millenniums without giving a excrement and killing/taking everything on their way.
Same goes for people who think that the spirit can be contained in a body or transferred to a clone.
No scientific discoveries will ever make you a god.
