You're dead on Shaolin. According to my sources, ki is a spirit energy channeled to enhance martial arts. I have found various links to an Aikido network that uses traditional "ki practices" with their Aikido. I also know a lot of people who have done Aikido and their sensei knew about the energy called ki and could feel virtually no pain when students tried to hurt him.

But of course, the normal population mixed the ideas of ki/chi/etc. with TV, confusing the line between reality and entertainment, and started a huge group of people who practice "popular ki." Aptly named because that's exactly what it is. It's popular, but not nececcarily(sp?) right.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

Heh, I don't even do it, just to avoid criticism from Fat_Turkey for saying stoopid things :D

I'm more into the kinesis anyway, because I'm not a combat person, and as F_T said it's based around martial arts.  It's also more fun for me to do what I enjoy more, which is PK (any derivative).

And "necessarily" is spelled "n-e-c-e-s-s-a-r-i-l-y".

Thanks squeek, been having trouble with that word lately [:P].

I haven't really done anything energy related lately because I guess I'm just bored. I also haven't had much success with anything lately, the pinwheel won't move, my energetic constructs crumble and are too unstable, and I've never been able to draw enough energy with NEW.

*sigh*... can't even meditate anymore (I doubt if I ever did it at all).

Ok. Ive listened to the people on this site go on and on about their bias opinions about ki.  Some people believe that they can fly and do a kamehameha, and some people spend all their time proving those people wrong.  I believe that ki was first developed as a mental procedure in order to boost your adreneline, and enhance your awareness/senses in specific places.  What many of the people today think about ki, is really just a misconception of what ki was meant to serve as.  I also think that there is no point trying to prove wrong these people that belive they can turn supersayain.  In 5 years at most, they will probably have forgotten all this ki stuff, or will be laughing their asses off remembering it.  For all of the people who continue to believe they can over power the world with their ki...I REALLY feel bad for you.
