Hello~
So a few months ago I succeeded in my first Astral Projection. It was kind of a weird experience though since it was completely unplanned and while I was out of my body I experienced a lot of fear and I felt through the entire experience like I was being watched because everything around me was so dark. And now I keep finding myself during sleep trying to astral project like I get the same feelings that happened with the first one but something in the back of my mind tells me that something bad is going to happen or I'll see something that will be too frightening. The worst part about this is I'm so ready to AP while I'm awake but because I'm asleep I can't help it and it's almost like my "dream mind" or whatever is telling me this and I feel rather hopeless because nothing else that I have tried worked. Can anyone please give me some advice on how to get over this overwhelming sense of fear? Thank you very much! (:

What do you mean that you "keep finding myself during sleep trying to astral project"?
Are you saying that while you're dreaming, you're aware that you're dreaming and during these "dreams", you're trying to astrally project?

Oops sorry that was unclear. Yes that's exactly what I mean. During my sleep I start become aware that I'm astral projecting but then get too afraid to actually get out of my body.

Then let me just say that you're better at projecting than you even realize.

To make a long story short, you already are projecting.

I'll explain more tomorrow.

I had the same feeling today, when I was at my closest to projecting, and failed due to my fear.

All I can say is that by fearing, you will manage to create thought forms which will exactly match your expectations of the being that you think is watching you. As in, if you think (believe) that you are being followed by, let's say, a death eater, then you will actually find yourself facing such an entity which was actually created by you. But you will fail to realise this and you would freak out.
A way to dodge this would be to realize and TRULY BELIEVE that you are bloody invincible on the astral plane. Nobody can harm you and that you are the ultimate.

You must not limit yourself by your perception but be open to accept anything. That's when you will see the 'reality'. To explain this more clearly, let's say you are actually being approached by a friend on the astral plane who wishes to say hi. But due to your fear, you will perceive this to be a negative entity who is trying to attack you. So be brave and realize that nobody can harm you and god is always beside your side.

As Xanth says, what you experience is objective, but how you experience is subjective...

Good Luck!
