Scientific Support for Consciousness and it's direct effect on reality

So all this talk about Titor and time travel made me think about something I came across a few years ago.  We often are at odds with proving consciousness from a scientific viewpoint but we do have one piece of ammunition.  It is the double slit experiment.  Now I had heard and read and watched in documentaries probably 10 or more explanations of the double slit experiment and it never made sense to me.  I always thought I just must not have a deep enough math and physics background required to understand it.  Until I came across this great youtube video from an amazing British physicist who explains it plainly.  Basically what the double slit experiment shows, or at least lends strong support to, is the notion that conscious observation and recording changes the way physical matter behaviors.  More than that, it actually changes reality from a probability wave into physical matter.  Einstein once said he preferred to think the moon was there whether he was looking at it or not.  This is probably not the case, in that if no one is looking at the moon it most likely only exists as a probability wave and not actual matter.  This opens the question of did the universe, time, and physical matter reality actually exist before consciousness.

Anyways I thought it might be nice if anyone wants to be able to back up their claim for consciousness with some scientific data.  Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9tKncAdlHQ

While consciousness might be up for grabs as far as today's scientists are concerned... the effect of consciousness upon our reality has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt by the fine gentlemen who were part of the PEAR Labs:  http://www.princeton.edu/~pear/

The lab is inactive now-a-days, but through the experiments they did, the numbers supported the level of PROOF that our consciousness directly interacts and changes our reality.

I did not mean to imply that the double slit was the only, or the best, research to support consciousness, only that it is the most widely known and the validity of the double slit experience is pretty much universally accepted in the scientific community.  I believe there is value in that.  The double slit has been around for over 50 years now and science has failed to come up with a (valid) explanation for it.

Also thanks for the reference I have not seen this before.

Yes, the double slit!  I love this experiment, because it simply blows my mind.

What I want to see tried is this:

You take the data, but, before looking at the results on the screen, you destroyed the data.  What would you see?  The data would effectively be gone, no data would exist... and you wouldn't have had looked at the screen yet, so that data would also not exist until you actually looked at it.  Or would the existence of the data on the screen be enough to fulfill the causality of what slit the atoms went through?

Would you get two slits or an interference pattern on the screen?

Has this example ever been tested?

IF it's true, it would show that you could actually REMOVE data from the system and have it effectively be erased from existence... hence, resetting the data.

Its a really good documentry about science and conciousness , theyve actualy known quite a bit for awhile but not many people in science dont want to talk about it .
The guys voice is kinda monotoned but he doesnt talk to much

I was just thinking about this...

The implications of the Quantum Eraser Experiment (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6HLjpj4Nt4) is that *WE* (consciousness beings) are the driving force behind how this reality works.  Isn't that mind blowing?

They explain in the above video using the Quantum Eraser Experiment, that WE as the beings who understand (create) this system (our reality) actually CREATE the rules by which this reality function.

If enough consciousness beings whom experience this reality (exist within it?) change their perspective on certain "rules" of this reality... would things actually change?  For example, if a critical mass of consciousness beings believed that we could counter gravity, could we then fly?

At the very least, it's evidence that WE control our reality to a much greater extent than most people are even able to comprehend.  We might be able to control every small aspect of this reality if we so chose.

Thoughts?
