David Blaine and Levitation

I've seen Street Magic. It is really cool. Even I was astounded at some of his Acts, like taking a Card out of a Basketball and producing coins from a beggars tea etc. I like to think that he has some cool powers, but when I searched for his Levitation, I found that it was another illusion. To find about it you can search for "David Blaine Levitation" at any search engine, preferably google.com

Who knows he really might have some Powers.

What he preformed for the people and what was shown on tv were two different things.  Notice the obvious editing that was used in the show.

The trick he preformed was essentially raising one foot while being on your toes on the other.  Perspective wise, it appears that you are levetating.  After the fact, they added in the other scenes that used a rig.

David Blaine is a VERY GOOD illusionist and mentalist. He does old tricks in new and exciting ways. I have no idea how he does it, although RoyHarper is right on the perspective thing of the levitation. And some of the coin tricks he uses I've seen a friend do as well. Then again everyone knows how to moonwalk, but only Michael Jackson does it well. I enjoy watching David Blaine specials cause he makes it look so real that it can make a sceptics doubt.

i own the DVD daivid blaine produced called fearless. it was very impressive. i was wondering about some things though. how did he rip that deck of cards in half? and when he was in that ice for sixty hours. that was not an illusion. he came close to dying that day. i have only figured out one of his tricks so far and that was where he ripped that chickens head off. he folded the real head to the side and pretended to pull it off but it was a fake head. hwen he put it back on he just switched the fake head to the other hand and let the real chickens head go back to normal. chickens have very flexible necks. for most of his tricks i have not and probabally will never find an explanation.  for those who saw the DVD you remember what that guy said. for those who believe, no explanation is nececary. for those who do not, none will suffice...

Yeah, David Blaine is good at making fool out of people.

You might have seen how David Blaine Levitates Objects like a Dollar Note or a leaf. That is done using a very thin wire. I don't exactly know the specificatons of the wire, but you would like to know, I will find out. You should have seen the Lady's popped out eyes when she saw him levitating a dollar not.[]

I will tell you more about his tricks as I get my hands on them.

I heard the trick about the block of ice was done like this....

First they got someone whom resembled Mr. Blaine.  If you notice the person in the []block of ice is kinda hard to make out..wavy and distorted.  And when they would put up the black curtain,  Mr. Blaine
would changes places with Mr. X for a while until the black curtain came up again..then presto..they would change places again.  Of course there was a secret little door for this exchance to take place.  

I still enjoy watching him though..infact he was on one of the HBO channels the other day.

There was a show on tv about a year ago here in the states regarding exposing David Blaine. The show had an illusionist going through a lot of Blaine's material twice. First doing the trick, then the second time showing step be step how Blaine did it.

But at the last levitation trick in the street magic movie, he does a levitation for 3 white girls and than the camera is just above the ground and you can see right trew under his feet......explainesions?

I remember those three young women, on the boardwalk Atlantic City, right? Did anyone really see under both his feet? Again, from what we're watching on tv, it's really hard to tell exactly what's going on because we're not there. We're looking through the camera lens.

Whatever he does, he does well. He has a good marketing group working with him too. I'm not knocking him, really the opposite. He is an expert at sleight of hand and illusion. [8D]

In that scene the editing was so obvious it was stupid, there's a camera shot taken at the time of the levetation using the foot trick.  Then there's a completely different shot taken from underneath with a massive continuity break.  This is one of the only scenes like that, I wonder why?

Hey just asking if you people have seen David blaine and his Street Magic. He levitates off the ground about 4-6 inches, if you havent seen you should really look into downloading his Video off of Kazaa.
