welcome to the board.

i just have a problem remembering things in general, whether its a dream or the fact that i just poured a cup of tea. i often have so much on my mind, i pour a glass of tea or lemonade or whatever, and then as i put the pitcher back in the refridgerator, i shut the refridgerator door and walk off, forgetting totally about the tea or that i'm thirsty. my mom hates it when i do this. i guess its hard to start a musical career and become enlightened at the same time [:)]

i tend to only remember the last few dreams i have before i wake up only to forget them permanently later on in the day. after i wake up, though, i'll often just lay there until i go off into another dream, where i'll try to become lucid. i have terrible luck with dreaming at night when i'm first going off to sleep.. my mind is always totally exhausted when i'm creating scenes in my head. i just can't hold concentration very long at night.. or in the morning i should say..
What is the sound of no leaves cloving?

I good way to solve the memory problem is keeping a dream journal. That's just a notebook or something where you write down anything you remember of your dream as soon as you wake from it. It's a good idea to just lay still and  let dream memories come ot you before you open your eyes if you can too, it helps.
My dream journal had me remembering at least one good portion of a dream (usually more than one dream) every night. That was until i lost my dedication to becoming lucid, got slack and stopped using it. Now i'm having trouble remembering my dreams. I really should get back onto that [:P]

Here's a really good website for lucid dreaming: http://welcome.to/share-a-dream

There definitely are methods to improving dream recall. One such method, as Euphoric Sunrise pointed out, is a dream journal. I've never kept one, but I have heard it helps recall after a while. Once dream recall is improved, then I've also read where lucidity comes easier. I can't say for sure, because lucidity is sporadic with me.

Here's another website to check out that you might find helpful:

Hi timeless,

You mean the very thing I used to get in trouble for when I was in school (daydreaming), might help me to be a better lucid night dreamer? [;)]

Seriously, the idea of a connection between day and night dream lucidity is an interesting thought, though I see a difference. The immediate difference I see is in the level of consciousness because in the daydream we start thinking of a tropical isle, etc, and have immediate control over what we choose to think about. Whereas, in the night dream, first we must get lucid, and then go from there. Sometimes, in a lucid night dream,  the control isn't what we hope for too.

Could be, I do daydream and have many lucid and flying dream. My friend who is a very good artist also tend to have lucid dream and flying dream too. When I was younger I used to do some self hypnosis script in a book called "total mind power" (which is more toward visualising scenery to focus the mind for self hypnosis).

just wanted to say it :)

i decided to look for some people who are lucid after i saw a really interesting movie called "waking life"  i cant say that im "consistantly lucid" but i think i need to work on remembering my dreams more than working on knowing im dreaming.  it seems like the only time i do remember a dream i remember knowing i was dreaming... anyone else have this prob?
