In higher degrees of Initation and conscience expansion, one never sleeps again.

Dear Pete,

It is very much a function of how stressful your life is.  If you hit the bed exhausted like many people do then you are less likely to feel inclined to try to retain conscious awareness of a projection.  In periods of my life when I have not been working or stress has been low I have been able to remember my dreams and projections much better.  I think 2-3 a month is pretty accurate considering the mental stress levels many experience these days.  My 'twin' cousin (she was born 4 hours before me on the exact same day) projects for extremely long times when ever she wants.  She is probably the best projector I am aware of.  She caught her husband cheating on her this way...she of course verified things easily after that.  She only discusses her ability with me since we are both a little 'touched'.  I am a poor projector relative to her but I know more than 2-3 a month is very achieveable if you are very well tuned and connected to the 'Source'.

Thanks Violet, that makes a lot of sense. I guess I don't like the idea of preset limits to it all.  What an interesting story about your sister (my condolences to her). I hadn't thought a lot (yet) about the practical "applications" of OBE. It could create some  interesting situations and problems.

Dear Pete,

I think I only gave one of many reasons but I think it is a fairly common one.  She is my first cousin.  It is really bizarre to have a 'twin' cousin.  Perhaps 'twin' was the wrong word.  I remember my grandmother saying how shocked she was when she had two granddaughters the same day from different mothers.

I read in Astral Dynamics (p427) that "most frequent projectors are lucky to have two or three decent projections per month". I was a little disappointed to read this. I guess I expected it to be more controllable once learned so that you could do it not exactly whenever you wanted but pretty much so. I have yet to achieve a conscious OBE myself. What do the more experienced think? Is two or three projections a month at best pretty typical?
