MBA Feeling???

Hi vikram88,

1. step is that you imagine, you can actually feel the sponge or your hand on your skin rubbing. Its kind of remembering how it felt when you were really doing it. If you cant, do an actual sponging to get the feeling. Tactile Imaging is not visualising, its feeling your skin/muscles/body.

2.step is when you move your awareness hands and do MBA with them. This is even more sophisticated as you need  more training with your awareness hands. You start with imagening your hands do the rubbing. Its also not visualising, but more like really doing it in your imagination.

Your last sentence again confused me. I can do visualisation pretty well. Now do I have to visualise the feeling of my knee being sponged or rubbed in my mind or do I actually have to feel my knee being rubbed(as if some invisible entity is rubbing my knee)?

Helmut

Hi vikram88,

visualising means using the optical cannel of your brain, which is like seeing. If you do TI (tactile imaging), you use the kinaesthetic sense of the body, you feel your skin. There may be always some visual components involved, but the focus is clearly on your body-sensation. You have to feel your body(hands) touching and being touched at the same time.

So you mean that the sensation of being rubbed should not be in our minds but it should be actually felt on the skin as if someone is actually rubbing the skin???

Hmmm...

That's pretty difficult.

Athios

You should note that the 'sensation' you feel doesn't necessarily have to be a physical feeling. So it won't feel exactly the same as if your skin were really being rubbed. But you you should feel something...

I tend to focus and feel the sponging action/feeling within my body parts, not just on the skin. Although that might just be because of the way I do it...  [:P]

Before I started NEW I directly went to Ki training. Now when I concentrate I can feel as if that particular part of my body is a little heavy and dense and thus I can feel the body part. If physical feeling is not necessary in MBA or TI then is the above sensation good enough.

Helmut

Hi vikram88,

My teacher/guru used to say everything is in the mind. It really is! So if you visualise an object or feel your skin, its all in the mind, just a different input channel. Eventually everything in the mind is blended together, so you cant clearly differentiate between seeing and feeling. But to work with, TI and MBA are clearly distinct from visualising.
Maybe the difficult point is that you equal imaging with visualising. But it is not (only) seeing, but feeling in this case.

Yes, it is perfectly true that everything is in our minds. But there will be difference in result if the feeling is only limit to my imagination and not to the physical.

That's where the problem lies.

I cannot understand whether I have to have an exact physical feeling, a feeling in physical which is not exact but some other feeling or an imaginative feeling(To visualise what will I feel if that part was being rubbed).

If you practice NEW, please do tell me what you do and what feelings you have.

I cannot start TI and go furthur until and unless I have solved this problem.

Please help me...

I practice NEW Vikram.

I don't visualize, I just feel the feeling, as if, I were doing the action.  Try not to picture anyhting.  Just get lost in the sensation.  Make your body feel it.  The sensation can be strong or weak.  I feel a very slight warm pulsating.  That is just how my body reacts to the exercise.

P.S. With the sponging thing, I have found that traveling on the leading edge of it makes it easier to feel.  It creates an intense point (compared to the other parts passed over already) and steadily dulls from there.  Just like when you rub it.  The place you are touching is tingling while the parts you have touched are steadily dulling as you get farther away from them.  Do not expect it to feel the same though.  For me, like I said, it feels like a very slight warm pulsating feeling.

vikram88

So you mean that you do not feel an actual sponge rubbing but just a warm pulse.

When I concentrate on a body part then it feels a little heavy and dense. Will that feeling be good enough for MBA and TI?

Ok.

Now can that same feeling be used for Sponging, Wrapping, Brushing?

If yes, then what's the difference between the three actions?

Athios

Yes, that feeling you get is enough. As you work more on this, the feeling might get...hmm...more defined? Or at least easier to control.

Anyway, I use those same feelings for the different 'actions'.
I guess the different is just in your focus, breadth of the area you're working on, and direction/type of motion.

vikram88

Finally, My problem is solved.[:)]

Now, if I want to have a more defined wrapping action then I should move the same density feeling around and around the area just like a cloth is being wrapped?

vikram88

I just started reading NEW Energy Ways.

I have reached till MBA.

When we make body awareness for a particular part and start an action like sponging, so do we have to actually feel a sponge rubbing over our skin or do we have to feel it in our mind just as in a visualisation?
