i suggest having something to look at or gaze. for example a lava lamp, i use a crstal ball, just let your eyes SLOWLY get heavy and heavier until they close and youll still beable to see the object so after your totaly asleep you can get up and walk around, at least thats my meathod try it and see if it works, it worked for me. good luck.[8D]

why not start out with your eyes closed, and concentrate on the blackness? as long as your concentrating, you probably wont go to sleep.

i like to have to fan on too, since it makes a droning noise.

Try working on keeping your mind clear and concentration. Work on improving these. Try to keep your mind from drifting off so you do not go to sleep.

Eyes closed or open does not matter too much I don't think. Most close their eyes, but go with what you feel works best for you.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

I would read some more literature before attempting an allout OBE. Also, I find it easier to close my eyes(but thats just me). I recommend using some music also. There are some in the File Library of this site, but many more on the net. THe brainwave generator is also worth a try.

Oh, sorry. Erm. I like Matchbox Twenty.

Maybe you should try it during the morning on your sofa?
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

I've been trying to acheive an OBE or AP and I lay on my back in bed with a fan going to create a consistent almost soothing sound.  I slowly breathe in and out counting each time, and I concentrate entirely on floating, but what has happened everytime is i just doze off.  I was wondering if you have any hints.  Should i have the lights on or off?  Is it a good idea to stare at the ceiling or have your eyes closed?  Any suggestions would be much apprecated.
