Work on relaxing your face. ONce your meditation reaches a threshold the "close eyes" reflex kicks in and you'll notice they stay shut without any effort. Just patience [8D]

Try concentrating on your minds eye, the visuals there.  By trying to look with your physical eyes it is confusing your body to the point were it wants to open the eyelids so you can see.

i went through this too.  i think it's more psychological than physical.  the first time you noticed it probably left a slight impact.  it could have been a little disturbing or something.  the more you think about the problem, the more prounounced it will be.  keep meditating, it will eventually go away.

you don't need to close your eyes to meditate.  actually there are many people that do it w/ thier eyes open.  if your eyes open slightly, leave them that way.  if you find that they are opening fully, and you dislike that, tilt your head down a little bit and stare at a spot on the floor about two feet in front of you.  your eyelids stay about half open w/out any effort.

in the early stages of meditation there are many little relaxation problems such as these.  work through them, confident that they will subside.   some of them can be very distracting and will take up much of your time at first.  the best thing to do is to not fight anything and do what feels the most comfortable to your body.  your body knows what's most comfortable for it, just pay attention to what it's telling you.

That's one of the rare problems I think I have overcome: I choose now to concentrate on the sensations that I like, The ones that I like to feel because they are new to me, if I open my eyes or swallow my saliva, I just do it, and continue keeping my focus towards the body asleep-mind awake Idea, (which is only an idea for me... because I don't think I reached it... for I'm so afraid to *pop* out of my body.
I would like it to be slow, and I think it's easier to make it slow than to be in a hurry! I admit that all that has been done will be somehow rememberd deeply, and will lead me thru the first stage faster and faster because I know them... until now it has worked, I don't have to wait for a quarter of an hour to feel the first sensations, actually they come rightaway... then when it comes to investigate to what is going on then, it takes more time, but it's always interesting, and never twice the same. I think you might be a little to *willing* to make it, let go and it will be a cinch!

Actually Im not trying to only meditate. I want to get an OBE. To have an OBE you have to have your eyes closed.

The Beauty of an OBE is that you dont "HAVETO" do anything. So dont feel pressured into doing it any certain way. Keep trying knew things!

Please explain what you mean about that you dont have todo anything to get OBE.
Do you mena that you sit in a chair and say, i want to have an OBE and then you w8 several years until it has developed by it self so you can consciously have one?

*privacy is a physical illusion*

I mean that you shouldnt restrict yourself. Be always ready to try knew things. It doesnt mean you should just sit around and wait for an OBE, but it does mean that originality and moderate improvisation is a great way to set up an OBE.[|)][|)][|)][|)][|)]

When I meditate I have to make an effort to close my eyelids, actually making them tense. If I fully relax myself my eyelids slowly open up. Its like for myself to be full relaxed my eyelids need to be open. I don't know how to explain it. The more I relax my eyes the more they start to open up. Then I have to keep on closing them.

This problem got its last straw when last nite I was dreaming and I became lucid and then my dream slowly turned into black and I realized that the black I was seeing was under my eyelids and my left eyelid was slight open.

When I am trying to wake myself up from a bad dream I find that my eyelids are sort of locked closed and it takes alot of effort to open them up so I can wake myself up.

So its like, when I am fully conscious, I can't keep my eyes closed, yet when I am dreaming my eyelids become locked.

Are my eyelids wrongly formed or something?

What can I do to stop this?
