"Paranormal" has always been interesting to me. It's like a life long calling that I never took up fully until recently. As for the specific topic, I remember I first heard of this crazy thing called "astral projection" (whatever the heck THAT is) from a friend who was very close to my heart. She had committed several suicide attempts starting at age 9. She told me about the astral plane after my suicide attempt.

Talk about forgotten memories. I don't think there is much chance of me sleeping again tonight, my mind's going to be working hard.

It started with a movie called "The Haunted" about a true story of a family terrorised by a spirit that is tearing their family apart.

I did some looking into ghosts on the net which led me to the Playful Psychics Book when I was 9. I experimented in Psi and healing until I came across reading an article about astral projection. my mother bought me Astral Dynamics later on, and without her, I never would be here on this site. Thank goodness for her. I am 16 now and still kicking in the phsyical and METAphysical worlds

Looking back it is kind of weird because it seems I have always been interested in such topics and actually did energy work before I ever knew what it was or what I was doing. When I was in my early teens I would go out to the corner of my parents property where it was a little wooded and isolated. There I would just think, meditate sort of, and feel for energy, my energy and that surrounding me. I would do this every once in awhile. Well one day I was sitting in class in high school and I felt this strong energy come over me. I just gave into it, trying to really feel it throughout me. Suddenly I was in this field surrounded by trees, the sky was black with no stars or anything but everything was bright and colorful as if it were a sunny day. I was admiring the scene when I suddenly thought, "Wait I was just sitting in class a second ago." With that thought I found myself back in class. The experience last all of maybe 2 seconds. I did not know what had happened and sort of forgot about it for a few years. A few years later I pick up a book about sex just thinking it will be an interesting read, but it was much more and from it I learned about energy work. A few more years later I am visiting a friend and my visit is just about over. For some reason out of no where I think to tell her about my experience in high school. I had not thought about it really since, but for some reason it popped into my head. So I tell her and she is like "Oh that is astral projection". I get home and start surfing the net gathering up info on astral projection and here I am today.

When I was a very small child (about the age of my first conscoius memories:) ) I used to have very strong feelings of awe and amazement while looking at beauties of the world, sunrises or sunsets and stuff like this. The prevailing feeling accompanying it was extreme longing, as if I was not from this place, I had this weird, very strong feeling I was missing something. Today I sometimes wonder if they were some traces of my life before my birth? I don't feel it any more, but I'm sure it influenced my path.

I've been wandering for YEARS, searching for I don't know what, getting excited about anything but what suited me, the when I settled on my own, I started to do exactly what pleased me, and it happend to be reading about astral travel in the mountains of tibet, sci-fi, people exchanging bodies, exploring the depth of humanity, cross death and discover the true reality... I did not realise at all it could have some link with reality, but soon I saw a book on astral travel, but it said it was dangerous, and that you need to wear a cross in order to protect your empty body: I said NO WAY, I'm not going to look like a dead body. That was a few years ago, so I forgot about it all, and I started wanting to feel better in my body instead of trying to leave it: I went to see a doctor, and tried to get rid of all little porblems, I started to dream about the symbol of astrological lion, but didnt understand, it came back in different forms, always the sign of Lion. And I realised it was the shape of cork I had in the nose, So I decided to try healing myself with energy work and consciousness, and IT WORKED! from there all went very fast, I started doing energy works every day, until I started to "feel" entities going thru my body, it was very unpleasant, and having no solution, I left my apartement, and started becoming crazy, trying to find God, but I finally received words of light "god will come to you as a doctor) I was very happy that it would be so simple so finaly I went to a mental hospital, and one year after getting out I started being able to have exchanges with my guide, and I still feel a lot of beings in my life, but now I know I can go to their world as they come to mine, and we'll be up to discuss about them leaving my private life alone.

And this IS the short version.
By the way AP and OBE are NOT paranormal: it's true normality. dot.

Since I was a child I was interested with "ghost" then when I got old enough and my Dad noticed my more than casual interest,shared with me that he was a medium..[:O]
After a few months I was feeling and seeing them myself..lol.
I got into AP trying to escape a abusive marriage.

Sorry Jc84, guess I didn't answer that part.. well.. I think it has helped me grow spiritually, gave me a tool to be able to see several past-lives, which in turn helped me to be kinder, more honest, more understanding and to meet my guide.. It has made me what I am today...and in my opinion..That isn't too darn bad!! [^]

Then I wanted to keep going deeper into the low levels of reality so I could control it, but that is as far as science has come. I remembered a few times years ago that I had accidentally done a little telekinesis, so I tried to combine spacetime physics, quantum physics, and telekinesis to get a better understanding and it worked. I saw things that science couldnt explain, and I've been learning about nonphysical stuff and doing OBEs and telekinesis since then.

When i was 8-9 yrs old I founded this book: "Life Mystery" which had some info about Astral Realms.. It wasn`t a very good book (no details, not techniques,no nothing, just some informations about this "special ability"), but it sort of awakened me

After some years.. I just started wondering about lots of things and remebered about AP - found mysticweb.org (i didn`t like it - sort of a cult) and after that kromeknight told me about astalpulse.com

I picked up the Casteneda series when I was in highschool, my mother gave them to me, and out of curiosity attended one of the seminars in LA. They gave me a good base for energy work and I began practicing on my own for a long time until one day I started to get some strange experiences with dreams. Spontaneous projections and sleep paralysis, looking at my bedroom with my eyes closed...that sort of thing. And then a few years ago, I just sat up and walked right out of my body during a nap! hehe

And a good friend of mine, later when I was relaying my story to him, loaned me a Robert Monroe book and I did research on the computer and now I am here! Using many different approaches and picking up all sorts of information here and there, putting it all together and increasing my awareness along the way.

when i was younger i used to always watch the show "sightings" on the scifi channel at 7 in the morning. that was really good show...
but anyways i didnt learn about astral travel until about a year ago from this one metaphysics board

Well basically I was unsatisfied with what religion had to offer. All the answers they had weren't good enough for me and I couldn't understand why they were good enough for everyone else. So I became an agnostic and basically gave up. Then my friend met a fellow who was able to project and told him that it was a secret that no one should know about, and I didn't by that either. So I read and read and read and learned everything I could about the subject, and came to realize that it was the only sure way of attaining truth. Knowledge was the reward and it didn't require faith, just curiosity. It seemed to be exactly what I was looking for!

Since i was young, i had a natural interest in paranormal. One day i readed something about OBEs i thought it would be an interesting thing to have, but i only readed about the near death experiences. I didn´t knew that it is possible to have an OBE consciuos.

I forgot the theme for years. Since i have the internet i begun my explorations on paranormal themes, but only in the last weeks i started to read more about OBE´s.

Well, When I was in elementary school, I used to get this catalog (I only recieved it like three times), It was "Things you never new existed" by the Johnson Smith company. It was divided by sections of wierd not normal things (I never new existed). In one of the sections there was this lucid dreaming mask and other different things related to AP, OBE, and Lucid dreaming. It said things like "See your friends at any time!" and a bunch of different things. I was a kid so it drew my attention. It was so long ago.

Then, 6-7 (maybe a little more) years later, after not hearing about AP (Not even a single thought occured since then. In late april of 2003, It comes out of nowhere...In fact it took me about 2 days to remember what the term was, Astral Projection. So I did research, the first site I found was Astral Voyage.com. So, Without success, I've been trying since Early May.
