Hello Tenacious
I'm glad you've decided to post it's always good to have more opinions and experiences to read.[:)]
With your question IMO you were about to have an oobe, at the threshold to exite. I think it's RB's focus level 10 where noises and even shouts are heard. You will no doubt receive more in depth replys I just wanted to say G'day and welcome to the astral pulse forums.
Good luck

I have not experienced the voices but I know many people have. Robert Bruce says that is it most likely that you are perceiving the energies of exiting the body as sound, interpreting them as voices. Just ignore them until you are out of body, if that is what you want to do. If it continues once you are out, unlikely, then try to find out who it is and what they are saying.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hello Ten, and welcome to the club... !

There are many states of consciousness between awake and asleep. For example you can dream, you can lucid dream (you are conscious that you dream) and you can have an out of body (OBE - you are more conscious than a lucid dream and a dream), etc...

But there is a state which is closer to the awake state, when you start relaxing, closing your eyes, before you fall asleep, you actually start a transe (call it also meditation) where you are still fully conscious of your body and are well awake, however you start having images (pictures, or "movies") and sounds in front of your eyes and in your ears (respectively of course). This is known as the HYPNAGONIQUE state, it is entirely normal. What you see and hear is not really dreams properly speaking. You reach this state each time you transit between awake and asleep. So I often reach it when I am falling asleep and also when I am waking up. WHen I am waking up I am usually less tired and so I remember that much better. Usually I finissh a long dream and before I wake up I have some very short visions and sounds (sometimes I hear music, or a voice, etc..). These visions and sounds are completely different than the dream, then do not even relate to the story of the dream, etc.. it is like a second kind of dreams, but they are short and then I wake up. These 2 different kinds of dreams maybe are originating from two different places. Anyhow, these sounds and lights (it sounds good to call them like that) are common, at least in my sleeping pattern.

Thanks for all the replys.  this makes more sense now :)

Hi- I'm a new member here!  I have been reading posts here for some time now, and I decided to join.  Let me start my question with some background.  When I was younger, I had many deja-vou's.  I would be doing something, and have a deja-vou, and i remember everything perfectly.  I remebered things that I had dreamed of, and the dreams actually came true.  This is when I decided to start researching what was going on with me.  I stumbled into this site and read lots of info.  Ok now heres my question [:D].  I have just begun the art of meditation.  The other night i was meditating, and all of the sudden my body felt VERY heavy, especially my head.  Next, it felt as if i was in a train station, or a crowded place with a lot of people talking.  They were not talking to each other, but to me.  It was only for a sec. because this made me snap out of my meditation.  Can anyone explain what has happened??
