Power of thought = mind control?, Telekinesis?, and so on?

Then...Yes!

Everyone meditates to some extent wether they know it or not.  I say this because of how I view meditation, which can be sumed up like so.  Meditation is simply gearing the mind for a specific task.  When the mind is focused ANY task can be enhanced to include thought.  Every thing that every body here is talking about is a tought activated response.  And they meditate on that even if briefly to activate the response.

Vallk, If you mean the power to make things happen by thinking about them (perhaps one of cainam_nazier's 'and so on's') then yes meditaion will help in the increasing this ability (and many others). Meditation will not only improve your energy levels and the mental clarity needed to preform this, but increase your ability to remain focused on the task at hand.

Also, assuming Im on the right track,  deep self analysis and self understanding are very important. Start visualisation exercises, energy work and READ!  READ!  READ!  

Im in a hurry so I can elaborate later if you have questions or am not sure of somwthing Ive written.

Thank you for your answers. They confirmed what I thought.

I guess this is where I am now, ready to start meditation. I don't know why but I was not so interested in meditation, maybe because i feel I must have a lot of time available for practice. But after months of reading about OBEs and energy work (this I am doing every day), I feel the need to go one step forward. For now, I simply don't know how to start. I guess I will buy a few books and learn by myself.

I'd like to feel that I have more control on my life and on my spirituality too. I think reading all the messages on this board convinced me that meditation could help.

Simple meditation.

Find a chiar or some place relaxing where you won;t be disturbed.  And just sit there for five minutes.  For starters its good to be outside.  I won't say try not to think of anything cause that doesn't help much.  Instead just let your mind wander.  Don't think of anything that is bothering you like work or relations.  This is where being out side to start helps.  Just look at the scenery.  Think soley on that.  What you feel, what you see, smell, and so on.  Think only of the moment.  That is a good start.  Just be calm for a few minutes.  It will progress from there.
