Scratch an itch and let it go.

Often the itches are caused by our mind becoming so calm that the random firings of the nerves register on a conscious level. If you can ignore them, and I mean not just hope they go away but ignore as if it weren't there, then scratch and pay no more attention to it.

I tried to ignore them as if they weren't there, I suppose I need more willpower or something because it is always nagging at me.  Anyways, thanks for the replies.

PS:Whats L&L?

Never mind the damm itch! You can do it! Just ignore it, think positive! Sooner or later that itch will go away. You have to practice that and you will be fine!

If you get an itch scratch it. If you have to swallow, swallow. These things can be distracting so take care of them. For someone that is new to all of this, just telling them to ignore it is not usually the best thing. It is not always so easy to ignore such things. When one tries to ignore it they usually think about it which is not really ignoring it, and makes it worse. If you just take care of whatever is bothering you quickly with little thought it will be over and done with and no big deal. Trying to ignore an ever increasing itch over a coarse of 10 minutes is 10 minutes of distraction. Just deal with it and be done with it. As you get better at blocking things out, then maybe you will be able to block out this itch or whatever, but for now I say just scratch it.

A year or two back I was talking to someone who was trying to learn to project. She said that every time she would try her throat would get dry and she would really feel like she needed a drink. I told to just keep something to drink near by and whenever it happened to take a drink. She did this and it was no longer a problem. I think the next time or two she tried she was about to project.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

The most annoying thing for me when trying to do anything related to energy/AP/meditating/anyting else related is getting an itch.  It sounds like nothing, I know.  But sometimes when I am trying to AP I can be in the perfect mindset but then I have that itch, I go for 5 minutes not scratching, the itch still annoying me, and I hope it will go away.  Then after a minute or two I scratch it, and have to start all over again because I moved around.

Does that trouble anyone else?
