I think it is hard to say for sure. It is possible that an arch, or something resembling an arch was in that location before and left an impression there even after it had been moved.

Or maybe were were just viewing something at an odd angle that you are not use to.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hello Orion,

Sometimes, after coming out of an OBE, I see interesting things  happen, even though I'm "awake" in bed and moving about (i.e., the sleep paralysis is over and done with, and so is the OBE).

Once I saw a carved wooden - thingy - spinning over my head, and another time I saw a multicolored clock on my night stand.  And one other time part of my bedroom wall had been ripped away, exposing the outdoors!  When these things happened to me, it took about a minute for them to fade away for good.

I have no explanation for them because in the ordinary world, they seem nonsensical.  Perhaps it's just "crossover" from the otherworld, and doesn't necessarily "mean" much at all!  Then again, the "Arch" might be an otherworldly construction that others on this Forum are aware of.  Let's see!

Arches are commonly seen by people who are OOB. On many occasions (but by no means all occasions) arches are portals or gateways or 'crossovers' -as Tisha said- to other dimensions and planes. Orion, if you were close to getting OOB then the arch was probably a portal. So had you managed to reach the arch then you would likely have had a full projection.

Hello. I'm new to this site, and need to research it further when I have time. Maybe I'm bringing up something which has been discussed here before. I've been having "natural" OBE's since I was maybe 5, apparently mostly when being spiritually harassed in some way. Anyway, I have been studying this for a while, read Bruce's books, etc., after becoming aware of what I was experiencing while hearing an interview that W. Strieber did with Bruce a year ago. Sooo, I found myself in a lucid dream a few days ago. I suddenly realized that I was dreaming. I was in a familiar world or dreamscape that I go to sometimes, and remembered what I've heard about transitioning from a lucid dream to an OBE. I just kept walking towards a certain destination in the dream, approaching a road, and could barely hear cars coming and going, but could not see them. I then realized as I was listening, that what I heard were the cars passing in front of my home. I was so close to being physically awake, and yet was not. I hurried along in the dream to go to this canyon that I like to go to, because I realized that I could wake up at any moment. Then, I just stopped, and flippantly decided that I'd rather try to have my first attempt to cause an OBE to occur. I've never tried to cause one to happen before, because they seem to happen so easily without my help. After I stopped walking in my dream, I just barely concentrated on the idea for just a second, when suddenly I was back in bed. I almost thought that that was that, until I looked up, (or directed my conscious mind up?), and saw this TALL black arch above my bed. It was irregular and varied in width, went to the top of the ceiling, it's center point above me, and the sides of the arch landing roughly corresponding to the sides of my bed. I really began to freak out, I was as awake as awake could be, I thought, and distinctly remember the intensity at which I looked at the details of the arch. I then turned my attention to my arms,(I had fallen asleep on my right side), and noticed that my arms were a greyish color. I then for some reason, took my left arm, maybe in disbelief, and shook it back and forth, but at an incredibly physically impossible speed...and my arm was bending at my forearm while I was doing this. This seemed to be too much for me, and I remebered what I read about trying to wiggle your big toe to break such a thing. I began to try and wiggle one of my big toes, and suddenly I was awake "again", with my toe wiggling away. This happened at noon Sunday, and so my room was relatively well lit. I had tried to go back to sleep for two hours prior, and I guess that being awake earlier had somehow helped produce the lucid dream. I wish that I hadn't have freaked out, and just jumped up and did whatever. Anyway, sorry for the length, but does anyone have any idea about what that arch could have been? I've had experiences with entites, but have never heard of "structures" so close to the real time zone. Please help me figure this out. Thank you for your help and time.
