Hey, we're your "peeps?"  I guess I'll take that as compliment[;)]  Just so you know, there are probably not too many people here who understand that kind of slang...

Anyway, I too suffer from very mild ADD...at least I think so.  I came up through the school system before that was the big diagnosis.

I don't have a lot of advice to offer you, but since no one else has chimed in I will say this: you can OBE regardless of these kinds of obstacles.  It's all in your head.  This is just my opinion, but I really think if you have the wherewithall to type out a message on a computer after getting online and finding this site, you should be able to do everything necessary to have an OBE.  It won't be easy (hey, it's not easy for anyone), but just focus on relaxing your body and don't worry about your thoughts.

Best!

i don't have add and i don't know anyone who does.  i'm going to talk about it like i know what i'm saying though [:)]

we all have add.  some people can concentrate better than others.  i firmly believe any problem you have can be solved by yourself.

meditation is definetly something you want to keep doing. typicall, three weeks isn't really enough to see the kind of progress you are looking for.  if you want results fast, don't skip a day.  if you meditate for half an hour a day, try splitting it up into six sessions of five minutes a piece instead.  it will help you stay focused.  it won't help much if you start a half an hour session and are only focused for a min, then lose yourself in thought for the rest.  that would mean you only were meditating for one min a day.

what type of meditation are you doing?  one where you try and focus your attention/energy on something is the one you want.  i've been meditating for a little over a year now.  the first six months were extremely hard but now i can maintain a very decent amount of focus. there are plenty of sites that you could look at to give you a good description on what to do.  this is the first site that came up when i did a search http://www.plotinus.com/zhine_tibetan_dream_yoga.htm
go from there.  do a search on anything you don't udnerstand.  it seems very hard at first but it will get easier w/ time.

the main thing for oobe is not clearing your mind.  your mind doesn't have to be clear at all, and if i'm not mistaken it would probably be better to be thinking about something instead.  clearing your mind would allow your body's feelings to come into play more.  your body is something you want to lose sense of while trying to obtain a trance state.

the adrenaline pumping will go away the more familar you get w/ trance.  we all get excited in the beginning.  it feels very awkward, and it's a sign of progress.

Well I can tell you of a similar personal experience.  One of the first times I attempted an OOBE(after much meditation work) I was in a nice trance, all comfy etc, and began working on projection techniques..after some time I began to get body vibrations, and energy surges, they became pretty intense in a pretty short period of time, but I got so excited by these sensations and started paying attention to the feelings instead of my technique that everything fizzled out, game over, end of story, return directly to trance, do not pass go, do not collect any OOBE [:D] LOL.  Any way the moral of the story is similar to the others posted here, I think that if you continue your practice with the same vigilance as you have shown in the past few weeks, you will see progress.

Hi I have A.D.D also. One thing that can really help with concentration is physical excercise. I have noticed that after I have had a good work out my level of cencentration improves allot. It also improves your mood and stuff. One possibility you might want to explore is food allergies. Hiddin Food allergies can cause allot of mind problems including Depression, fatigue, low motivation and A.D.D. I happen to know that my A.D.D is caused by food allergys I am trying to get the allergys under control. Good luck. P.s this is my first post I just joined.

Hey there Quiet Storm.

Well, you're in luck, at a very young age I was also diagnosed with severe ADD and ADHD, and have been taking ritalin, adderol, and concerta my whole life. I can't go 10 seconds without shaking my legs or tapping my fingers. I was in the Gifted and Talented Education all through Elementary and Junior High School, and like you stated, I never learnt real learning skills and just flew by my class. Now I'm in highschool and it sucks :).

Anyways, my *severe* [;)] ADD hasn't affected my meditation or projection at all, except maybe when I first started out. But if you want some tips or ideas, here's what I usually do to calm my hyperactive soul...

I usually get to bed around 1-2 a.m., and wake up at 7 a.m. for cross-country practice. I run a good 9-10 miles a day at a fast pace including workouts inbetween, so by the time I get home around 10 a.m., I'm exhausted. I set my alarm for about 30 minutes and lay down to take a nap. My alarm goes off after 30 minutes, and I get up very tired and out of it, and usually walk around the room for a minute or so, then fall back down on the couch. I get comfortable and think hard in my mind about projecting and lucid dreaming, and do a little energy work before I usually go out again. Then, about a minute or two later I'll regain conciousness and be in sleep paralysis and deep trance, and you'll realize you have no ADD whatsoever, it's all in your head (most of the time [;)]).

From there I just use whichever projection technique I feel like, and go on my merry way. Heck, I just projected an hour ago and I'm feeling great now [:D].

Lesson for the day: If you have severe ADD or ADHD, do vigorous physical excerise and limit your sleep little bits at a time to see how it affects your drowsiness. Then try and project in mid-day during naps and such. It works for me and one of my friends, and I hope it'll work for you!

Good luck and happy projecting,
Cryo

hi everyone *waves* this is my first post here, so hello :D

as for ADD and ADHD - these are merely lables thought up by muggle doctors to try and control something they cant understand.

ADD and ADHD are just scapegoats to try and control the new waves of energy - take a look man, chances are your an INDIGO CHILD - go look em up, real interesting i promise you.

its part of the whole reptillian agenda, and the only reason it all seems to happen in school is because indigo children cant conform! we're here to lay ruin to all the old systems so the next wave - CRYSTAL CHILDREN can come into play and set up new systems that change with time and needs!

peace and love man, break down those barriers!

THEY CANT HOLD US BACK ANY LONGER!

Quiet Storm

I have ADD. I can't focus for sh*t. I hate it. As much as I try I still get bits and peices of information whenever I try to focus so I have to put it all together with my conscious mind to get "the whole picture"

I heard that ADD is something developed, and not something that you are born with. It is developed at a young age, usually when the child is very smart. SO smart and ahead of the class in school that the child does not need to develop essential learning skills... that is, at that age. Then as time goes on and school gets harder, since they have not developed any learning skills school gets really hard for them. Therefore I think if I know exactly what to do to cure this I can do it WITHOUT taking any medication. I think most depression, and "MIND DISEASES" can be cured in some way without medications.

Now, I read from many sources that the main thing for OBE is focus. Focus on clearing the mind. But the focus thing really makes it hard for me to relax my eyes while meditating. I can relax my body just fine but my eyes are always moving, because my mind is conscious of every single sensation that I feel and my eyes react to it by moving, or I start pumping adrenaline once I first start feeling sensations and basically I just can't "let go".

The longest I have been able to let go and make my eyes stay in one place is probably 5 to 8 seconds. And thats when I started feeling shifts in my consciousness and I felt like something was happening.

So I am asking you peeps to help me. Do you have any strategies that help you focus? I have been meditating for about 3 weeks straight every single day and I have not really made any progress into making an OBE. My eyes just keep moving! In fact, I think that if I don't move my eyes, that I will lose consciousness and fall asleep.

Its really frustrating. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
