Interesting!  I'd say you somehow grabbed the attention of his astral self.[:)]

"did i somehow wake up his astral self?"

Yes. Why do you ask questions that you know the answer to?

What game was it?

shadowatcher

Im not trying to be rude or anything, but Ive only met one other girl who plays video games. I myself am a hardcore gamer [8)].

curiousgirl

beavis, i wasn't sure if that was the case, or if it was simply just an invention of my mind.  i wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience, and can tell me what had happened.  i don't know much about how the astral realms work, so i'm not sure if my mind could have just invented that whole scenario.  i have no idea if it's possible to "grab the attention of [someone's] astral self", or anything like that.  i don't know what is or isn't possible.

shadowatcher, i was playing kingdom hearts.  i'm a total video game addict, once i get started on one i can't stop.  so lately i'm in rehab, 'cause if i start playing any right now, i won't get anything done in my life.  haha.. i left a post on that topic "i'll admit, i'm a gamer", but i think it got drown in the sea of video game graphics.  and believe it or not, there are other girls that play video games. no experienced OBE'ers have anything to say about this?  nothing similar has ever happened?  was it all an invention of my mind, or did i really see my brother's astral self?  i found this really interesting, and was hoping to hear some various comments about it. :-\

Tao4mind

Your experience was triggered by your dream. When you say you were being sexually assaulted by ghosts or spirits this is why you came out of body. Your brother was also aroused by these potential zombies. America is carpeted with these wandering souls. Science and religions clear light was to shine far and wide, driving superstition, the supernatural, and even God himself back into the shadows and dimly lit corners. These were not ghosts who assault you, but men who misuse their ability to travel in the spirit. But, then you have travelers like me who cast these men into stone and they may never come out again. This is why I call them potential zombies because if they misuse their powers the potential of me catching them is great. Go out in your garden and get a two pound rock and put it where you sleep. We will be watching for these tricksters and they can be trapped for eternity in stone. Be safe little girl.

tao4mind, what is that picture of?

Id just like to point out the obvious mistake - if the brothers astral self was awoken then how did his astral self possibly shake his sisters physical body to try and wake her up.
My opinion - it was a lucid dream and not a projection.

curiousgirl

well, that's the problem... i know for sure it wasn't a lucid dream.  i've had many lucid dreams, and they were not anything like what i experienced.  i was afraid people would just pass this off as a just a dream, but i know in my heart that it wasn't.  it was too damned different from a dream.  and when i came back to my body, i felt pretty tripped out and shaken, and kinda nauseated, and it took a while before i felt normal again.  so if i didn't actually see my brother's astral self, perhaps my mind invented the scenario on the astral plane?

I had an experience similar in one sens, but different in the other. WHile I was trying to OBE and was getting out of my body, in the astral world my wife was pulling at my arm. So I kept on pulling and it was like rubber band, my arm snapped back to me and I was free to wander around. However, after a little while, instead of returning to my body, the whole thing turned into a dream. It is extremely difficult to differentiate between dream and OBE, as OBE can easily turn into a dream. In an involontary OBE, I was floating from my bed to the living room where I saw my deceased grand mother sitting on the coach. She did not notice me. SO I am not sure that other people can notice us while in the astral world. There might need an additional ingredient for that: we need to wish that this person can see us probably, not sure. It could be that in the astral you borther went to the place where he knew he would find you.. where you slept. Now as he woke up he might have forgotten the whole thing, as we always forget our dreams in the morning, unless we are used to remember them.

Anyhow, that is an interesting OBE. Sure if he was in the astral world he would not have been able to really shake your physical body, so it seems here that there is a mixture  of OBE with dream like vision. It seems to me that your OBE was starting to turn into a dream, or at least was influence by your thoughts (the dream world is subject to changes under the mind... it is not fixed like the physical world).

The question was its own answer. Your spirit knows a lot more than your brain thinks it knows.

OldLad

Hey Curriousgirl.

Seems like after reading everyones post that you, me and afew others have had this experience.  My very first OBE was very similiar to yours in realism but my physical body was never involved.  So you had even a more intense experience than I.

I actually floated out of my room into the dining room area where I distinctly could see my step father reading at the table, like he always does.  The vision was crystal clear (the first and last crystal clear OBE).  Anyways, I floated right over him and landed in the kitchen where I saw him standing there looking in my direction.  When he walked towards me I blacked out into a normal sleep.

I confronted him whether he felt or noticed anything unusual the next day and he said no.  But to me, it felt real.  No lucid dream either, I've had tons of them and know the difference right away.

Could that have been his soul as well?  Very good possibility.  When I awoke from the experience almost immediately, the house was totally dark and no one reading in the dining room.  I do agree that another sleeping person who is also astral traveling (which every does at nights whether they remember or not) will not remember encountering you.

Your brother trying to wake your physical self is what throws your extra twist there and think that would boggle my mind.  Just to let you know, I believe what you believe and I can relate.  Hope this helps.

thanks for sharing your experience, oldlad! [:)] and yes, my mind is boggled. [:P]i wonder if there's a way to eventually confirm whether it was an invention of the mind, or the person's astral self, like maybe a way to talk to the person we're seeing, and give them something to remember when they wake up... not necessarily a remembrance of the experience, but maybe a symbol or something that will show up in their dreams or something.  like, when you communicate (or try to communicate) with them, send them a mental image of something, like a unicorn, for example, and see if they've had any dreams about a unicorn the next day.  or maybe repeat a phrase at them a bunch of times and see if they remember.  i just checked out a bunch more books on astral projection & OBE's (but unfortunately, my library doesn't currently have a copy of robert bruce's astral dynamics), so maybe i'll be able to find something about this somewhere.  if it turns out to be just an invention of my mind, oh well.  it was still interesting!  life is so weird, huh? [:P]

KrazyKitty

Heres my oppinion: every one's astral self leaves the body at night and wonderes around. Your brothers astral self probaly just saw you and was acting weird because to him it was like a dream. [:P] Thats pretty kool though! [:D]

curiousgirl

ok, this story is my first (and last... i'm still working on having more) actual OBE where i knew what was happening, and i actually got up and walked around.  i mentioned it in an earlier topic i made, but left out a part, because i wasn't sure if it would be passed off as being "just a dream".  but i know in my heart that it wasn't a dream, that it was still part of my OBE, so i want to see what this was all about.  i'll give the full details, since it was my first experience (where i knew what the hell was going on, and what it was), and well, i like talking about it since it was just so weird and new to me!

i was staying at my brother's apartment for a holiday visit, and for the first couple of days i had hardly gotten any sleep because i kept staying up way too late playing video games and we'd have to get up early the next day to do activities.  well, this particular night i was too exhausted even for video games and went right to sleep.

i was sleeping on my side on the "living room" floor in a sleeping bag (this place was really tiny, with just a mere partition for a wall to separate his "bedroom" from the living room).  i was having these disturbing dreams about ghosts, and being sexually assaulted by one.  then i woke up and sat there staring at the partition wall, thinking about my dreams, feeling kinda creeped out by them.  i felt like something was behind me, but i just kinda tried to ignore it... i figured i was just feeling spooked, like after watching a scary movie and then sitting in the dark.  so i continued to think about ghosts and spirits and all that, and i thought, "i wonder if spirits or ghosts can see each other on the plane they're on?" or something like that and suddenly i felt an electric bolt run through my body (if i had bothered to try to move, i guess i would have found myself paralyzed, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary: no vibrations, nothing. besides feeling slightly creeped out, i felt perfectly normal, so i just sat there thinking).  i was like "oh sh*t!  i'm having an OBE!" because i had read a couple of books about it beforehand.

i couldn't see, but i could sense the things around me, and i slowly got up off my side and stood up.  i attempted flying through the ceiling into the apartment above, but only got partway through and then couldn't sense anything about that room, and couldn't get any higher.  a thought passed through my mind that the reason i couldn't fly any further and sense the details of the other apartment was because i was having trouble imagining it.  so i came back down and decided to explore the apartment, and see if i could wake my brother up.  now i could actually visually see, and i walked through the wall and popped up in a corner, still halfway in the wall, next to my brother.  i called out his name, trying to wake him up, but my voice sounded very faint and far away.  but then he did wake up, and he seemed to notice me in the corner.  he felt at the air where i was, then a thought seem to occur to him, and he got up and ran around the partition over to my body.  i followed him a bit, and saw him kneeling next to my body, shaking it, and getting very worried, because i wasn't moving or waking up.  i didn't want him to freak out, so i decided to go back to my body and wake up.  i skipped! happily over to my body (i was quite enthused that this was happening) and hopped back in.  i woke up feeling very tripped out, nauseated, disoriented, and shaky.  and my brother was in bed, snoring away.  i got up and turned on some lights, which woke him up, and he hadn't a clue that anything had happened.

so what happened here?  what was that whole sequence with my brother?  did i somehow wake up his astral self?  was it really just a dream (which i feel it just wasn't... it didn't feel like one at all!)?  or was my mind creating this hallucination in the astral realm?  anyone ever have something like this happen?  any ideas of what that was all about?  it's sooo weird.
