My father for the past few years has been seeing funny misty energy waves every time he awakes from a nightmare. It doesn't happen any other time he wakes up and after a few minutes the waves disappear. He thinks it's spirits that have brought him his nightmare but he wants a second opinion. He woke his partner up and she saw them too so they are physically there. Does anyone else experience this? You have to open your eyes after the nightmare. I haven't tried it so I don't know if it's something that happens with everyone. Also there's a ghost in the bathroom next door that turns the radio on at random times, which might have something to do with it. I was wondering if anyone could give us more information.

If you use resulting fear as part of the definition of the word nightmare, I don't have nightmares anymore. I used to though, until I started dreaming lucidly a long while back.

When I was a kid I'd have nightmares about godzilla chasing me, or my Bozo the Clown doll trying to 'get' me, or even my Bugs Bunny talking doll/toy thing coming after me. I don't get those anymore LOL.

More recently my most fearful dreams were of tonados bearing down on me. I got sick of that and started forcing myself lucid in the middle of those and doing the prudent thing...take cover till it blew over. I still dream of them now and again, as well as other things that used to frighten me in dreams. They don't frighten me anymore though, they are all just interesting dreams that I allow to play out.
