Robert Bruce touches on that in his book. I find it a difficult question. In a way I do get relaxed from love making but sometimes I get so relaxed I fall asleep. With no offence to anyone I find that if I am alone and my wife is not present or if she is there but not comming on to me that a quick "smacking the monkey" is the best. It is not too physically tiring. I do find it is important that I do not get into any lusty sort of fantasies but stick to the point. More treating it as a relaxation exercise.If my wife is in the mood I drop the OBE , life is entirely too short to waste on  unimportant stuf like that astral when love is in the air.[]

If sexual tension is getting in the way of your relaxation than Ronaldo's suggestion is acurate. If an orgasm will help you relax, I think it might clear one of the major obstacles to OBE/AP: RELAXATION.

this is a very important question in my opinion !!!
I am not a "natural" projector so i think every element is important to look at, especialy sexual energy.
As for me, i can be multiorgasmic, that means that i can have many orgasms without ejaculating (we are getting more technical here, leave if you don't want to read [|)]) and in the same time keeping my sexual energy in my body instead of "dissipating it ". I am a man, so, i don't know the techniques for womens, but the thing is to feel your sexual energy (like you do for the chakra "feeling") coming from your balls (don't know the english technical term,sorry) all along your spin and reaching the inside of your head when you make love...it brings very pleasurable sensations. For more detailsread the book 'the multiorgasmic man", it is what i used. This is a very old taoist technic. So, the point is that when i have an ejaculation, i am more relaxed but i know that with less sexual energy= less control over the etheric or energetic body...so i am actually in the process of "capitalising" my energy to see if it was an obstacle to project. I would like to have some input on this subject from experimented projectors, because i'm still frustrated to not be able to project, aargl ![B)]

I have read the book mentioned by LA FORET MAUVE and practice its techniques. I am a man, so I am not too sure how things are for females. Looking for the book for females by the author might be a good idea. It teaches how to keep your energy and have orgasms. The only possible problem I see/have with this is that with these techniques you do not really get the relaxed feeling afters, but more of an energized feeling. So I am not so sure this in itself will help. If I have this problem what I usually do is draw up and store my sexual energy, and after I have stored a lot of it I will ejaculate (spill over into the expelling energy orgasm). This way I have stored energy and get the relaxed feeling afterwards.

I have talked to a few people, mostly female, who have said that they have had OBEs during sex. So if it is of interest you might want to look into using sexual energy itself for OBEs. I doubt you will find any books on this, so you will probably have to do your own experiments. I know when practicing the Taoist techniques there are times when I feel like I could leave my body, and many times when I have this oneness with the universe feeling.

 I think Robert Bruce is of the opinion that activity in the Swadhisthana chakra (aka, Sexual Arousal) is a distraction on your way to an OOBE (Astral Dynamics, pp. 195, 196).

 In my sex-magick training, we were taught that it was possible for couples to astral project during sex; that the sex was a ritual designed to propel the priest/priestess out of the physical at orgasm.  For myself, I could never get it to work.  It was too easy to get lost in the pleasures (or politics) that come with having partner.  The men seemed to have a harder time with the technique; I know women that have been able to do it.  They say it's incredible; you shoot out through the top of the head, see stars, etc.  Takes a lot of practice though, not to mention a willing partner.  Probably easier to try another method of projection now that I've mentioned it.  []

In Astral Dynamics, Robert Bruce also suggest trying to project after having sex because of the relaxed feeling one has afterwards. If you can stay awake it puts you in an ideal state to project. I have had a lot of success projecting after sexual situlation, mostly solo though because when I am with a partner I usually do not wish to leave them right afterwards. I do not entirely agree with Bruce on the Sexual Chakra. I can see where he is coming from and do agree with him that stimulating it can produce sexual energy, but if one knows what to do with that energy, through Tantra and Taoist techniques, it can be very beneficial.

That is interest about your sex magick. I would think it would be easier, at least for men, to try to project while solo than with a partner unless they are very skilled. It would be interesting for both partners to be able to project while having sex. Talk about taking sex to the next level.

Weeell thank you guys    Your inputs have helped me to get a better idea of what to expect.  Personally, after sex I do feel kinda drained of energy, I mean, if I have a GOOD orgasm I usually use a lot of energy.  So afterwards it's like... I even loose interest in the idea of astral projection! lol

I will continue to experiment, but mostly I will continue to read your posts on how to astral project.  The things is that when the atmosphere is right for a relaxing time, it is usually also right for sex :-/    the choice is hard....
