Perhaps a semi-large limit on the posts per day count would fix this?  I know sometimes I like to post alot, because there's alot happening, so maybe like 25 - 30 would do it.  Just an idea []

If the spammer is limited to 30, then he cannot get 102.   How is that not a help?

Actually I was thinking of another way too.  Some places I go have a "warn" kind of button.  The button would be found on the person's profile, or wherever really.  It would send an instant PM to the moderators that would say who's causing trouble, and who sent it.  When it is clicked by more than 5 people, that person is temporarily locked out of the site, until the Admin/Mods can handle it.  If the people that sent it had no basis for the "warn", then action could be taken against them.

I'm just throwing ideas out here.  The same methods I posted above are what is generally done on AIM (Aol Instant Messenger). I don't entirely want to fight about it. []

I made it 5 because I know there are stupid people out there who would go about warning just for fun.  5 would offset this stupidity.

I have never seen a relevant poster exceed 30 posts in one day, so I'm assuming it would be a good number to use to "catch" spammers.  It may not be, the actual number is a toss up.  I'm leaving alot of room for changes here.  Change the 30 to whatever, change the 5 to whatever.

I dont like post limits, but the warn button is a good idea. It should tell the moderator after some number of clicks, but not block them from astralpulse because you shouldnt hand out any punishment until the judge has sentenced you.

Very good ideas and conclusions.  However, don't you think that a Spammer may click that button 5 times or more to get regular users locked out?  Maybe casting votes would be more justified?  Love the ideas!

You wouldnt get to click the button of a post more than once (unless you have multiple names).

I think you shouldnt get locked out because some people are against freedom of speech. The button would only be a fast way to tell a moderator somebody is breaking the rules. Adrian said we dont get to vote to ban people, in a thread where a lot of us wanted somebody banned.

I don't know where it went to but there used to be a "Notify Administrator" link at the bottom of the forums.  I can't seem to find it now but I always thought it was a good idea.  Me personally I don't think that the banning or unbanning of a user should be discussed in open forum.  This often leads to more people being involved than need to and can cause a situation to get out of hand.


However Adrian has said numerous times that if you believe a user to be a problem or wish to file a complaint to simply PM him or another administrator.  They do ahve thier own private forum where they discuss what actions they are going to take on various subjects.

Hello all!

I wanted to take the time out of my day to stress a very important subject here on these forums.  I feel it is every members personal obligation to keep sanity on these forums.  As you all have noticed, these forums have been "attacked" if you will.  So here comes so words from a nuetral.

To all of those who come here to share ideas, please do so.  It is simply amazing to share beliefs with others and have opinions posted here on the Astral Pulse.  However, I, personally, will not in any way make your belief into a horrible subject.  I vow that I will never, in any such form, discriminate your ideas and beliefs.  Be it relegious, or not.  I feel that it is very important to find your inner self and then share with others.  Maybe others on this forum feel exactly the same.  Others however will not feel exactly the same, and yet others will try to put you down.  For those of you that feel that your are always right, think again.  We are not here to argue over who is right or wrong.  We are here to share experiences, to share beliefs, to share thoughts.  Please do this community a favor and do not try to persude me, or us, that there is something that we feel there is not.  This type of ignorance should not be tolorated on these forums, and we will seek an adminstrator to justify our claims.  If you feel you need to preach to us, please don't.  If you feel that we are "bad" people, hey who are you to judge?  Basically, what I am trying to say is that No one on these forums should judge or be judged.  Seeing that this is not real life, it is easy to judge someone without even knowing them.  Even in real life, people judge before they actually know who the person is.  I also vow that this site is for information.  We come here to learn as well as teach.  This is a school for the "gifted" if you will once more.  We are not here to try and prove points that are irrelavent.  Please hear me out when I say that I will not reply to someone who is trying to pick an arguement, for there is no reason that I should argue my point to you if you will never understand where I am comming from in the first place.

Ok so now that I have got all of that out, I wanted to let you know that I love this community because I learn so much here.  The people here are great, like a big family to me.  Thank You Astral Pulse for being there for me.
