Now that they are shorter and not quite as 'clear' as before they are what I describe as 'almost lucid'. This happens to me a lot. It seems that I know I'm dreaming when I'm dreaming but I can't seem to do anything about it, like 'fly' in the dream for example. Why this happens, I don't know. Perhaps I need to work on all those lucid dream techniques.

Anyway, I could be off base, but what you describe reminds me of the experiences I just mentioned.

When I dream I can remember them very clearly.  But I never realize im dreaming, almost as everything seems normal and very real.

Lucid Dreams are when you have controll of what happens with in the dream. Dunno if that helps, but I hope it does!

My lucid dreams tend to be way too short too; like an average of 1mn... [:(]  Then, I instantly (in a few ms) wake up.  No nice fading away period that would give me enough time to try to lengthen it...

The best I had was maybe 5mns long...  what a shame!  [:I][:P][;)]

I guess it must be a mix of lack of energy and power of concentration.  Or maybe a too strong "conscious mind"...

Yeah, you guys are hitting it on the head...   They are simply "partially lucid".  I probably just need more practice.  Does anyone have them often and for long periods of time in one sitting?

Just wondering.  I've had very clear and long lucid dreams before, but not many.  Most of mine are rather short, and not so clear...  I know I'm dreaming though.  Is this common?
