There are many ways.  If you are truly a "nature wizard," as your screen name states, I would spend a weekend in the woods and see who appears to you.  It might be a bear, or even an ant or a spider.  Keep an open mind!  If you have an experience with an animal that you feel is significant, find out as much as you can about it, because it is probably a guide.

As to the angelic or zeta variety, you need to be in an Astral state to work that issue.  Otherwise, you're stuck with observing effects.  Which is also OK.  I leave a shot of scotch on my altar, just in case a spirit guide should decide to show me favor.

I have always been facinated by this subject. Spirit Guides. I have never met one. frankly I find that symbolism is too easy. Everybody can interpret something to mean anything. If it is a cat an ant, or a crow... whatever. If a true guide is to guide you to somthing it might as well show itself, so that you "know"... One time I was attacked by ants and I ran home trough the forrest and when I finaly reached my home there was no ants on me. (Probably cos a shook them all off me). The message: DONT MESS WITH ANTS!! Not to ridicule your sugestion, or anything. I get what you're trying to say.
But guides should know that if they want to lead us to something or help us they would let us know in a way that we "knew" and not just "believed".

But when I think about it we dont "know" the meaning of life.
We are left just to "believe".
And symbolism is actually a high factor in the astral.

AHH, it drives me nuts!
Well there you have it...
"God" didnt intend to have it easy for us.
Every single f****** thing is a challenge.
Thats life (and astral life) for ya.[:D]

Damn I just want some more OBE's

(But I guess I have to work for that all by myself, anyways)
(Those "guides"... If I got guides, then they must have some hell of a vacation...[xx(]

Furix, ants are wonderful teachers.  They're such tiny, vulnerable things, so easily squashed.  But look at what they can do when they team with each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a lesson, Furix!

I am currently reading Animal Speak by Ted Andrews. It is a very good read so far. I have discovered a lot. Assuming you like nature, then you might like this book.
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Some meet their SG during OBE, others speak with their SG with their eyes closed and in a quiet place, they just listen to the "voice" in themselves, etc... It is written (even here on this forum) that the SG is actually a part of your own soul that did not incarnate at your birth and that is out there to help you and guide you, and when you die you are suppose to get back together with the SG, etc... SG can also appears in dreams under different appearences. From the point of view of the psychology, the SG is your very inner self submersed in the unconscious part of your mind, and when you meet him/her in dreams it is supposedly you unconscious that is telling you something (in addition to normal dreams). So, one way or another, the SG is that other part of you that is there to help you and assist you. Remember that in dreams, all come with symbolism and imagery...

I am so grateful for Ted Andrew's AnimalSpeak!  After dreams of big cats (both mine and other people's, in relation to self), I looked them up (esp. bobcat!) in Ted's book and shazam! it all made sense!  I related it all back to my dreams and the dreams were no longer a mystery.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves nature, animals, and animal guides.
