Red and green are complimentary colors. If you were to draw a red line, stare at it for a while and then close your eyes, you should see a green line with your eyes closed. Perhaps, the red scarf was hitting your peripheral vision and casting a green hue among everything else. These are along the lines of seeing an aura (I think).

You sit around looking at blood for extended periods of time?
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Arie

Blood was once thought of as the seat of the soul.

I'm reminded of some movie i saw where two kids gave each other some blood of theirs and became "blood brothers"

Even in present day Christianity...they talk about being "washed in the blood" and "saved by the blood" and "the blood will set you free"

things like that....of course they believe Jesus was the supreme sacrifice to buy back mankind from the supposed stern king-judge-god.

In ancient days mithraism and christianity were very similar.  The ritual of dipping your fingers in supposed holy water which Roman Catholics practice today actually originated from the mithraic cult.

Of course the idea of sacrificial redemption was deep-seated in men of old.

Ancient men could only get back the favor of their gods by some sacrifice...since they were always in debt to the spirits...which later evolved into gods.

Arie,
Riiiiight! [?]
Thoughtful.....totally irrelevant.....but thoughtful.

Reason,

As Blue Giant pointed out red and green are complementary. That part of the scarf appears red because it absorbs green completely from the white light spectrum and reflects red.

If you were looking through the red part of your scarf you would be looking past a lot of red coloured fibres which would be effectively filtering the light. Similarly, if you were to look through a green filter you'd see lots of red hues.

James.

No not at all.

Arie

They mentioned blood so i felt like sharing my insights on that.

Acctually, I believe that was the Pineal Gland, and the phrase was coined by Rene Descartes.

I believe this was jesus, and he said "Know the truth.. and the truth shall set you free." I dont think many modern christians talk about being washed in blood, because that would probably have them sent to jail.

Arie I dont mean to critizise, but I question the reliability of the things you say. For the most part it sounds like you've either changed around old proverbs or made up your own.
We are not truly lost, until we lose ourselves.

Arie

He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." "no one comes to the Father except through me"

But...modern christians do talk about "being washed in the blood" and things like that. It has to do with sacrificial redemption. Now...if you don't believe me...watch TBN...its a HUGE christian television station.  They refer to "the blood" ALOT.

pineal gland as the seat of the soul?  It's possible.  Men once thought the soul resided in different parts of the body. Another time in history men even thought women did not have souls.

Ancients also used to believe that the soul was the breath minus the body.
"I hear and I forget... I see and I remember... I do and I understand."

Reason

I was outside the other day raking and it was daytime.  It was cold so I was wearing my scarf.  I decided to take a rest and I sat down on the ground.  I wrapped my polar fleece scarf (multicolored) over my face.  The red part was over my eyes.  The light was hitting my back.  The thing that I can't explain (for sure) is this:

Through the red part of my scarf I was looking at everything around me.  The thing that is weird is that everything was green.  I held my hand up to my face and it illuminated the space in front of me and was colored green/aquamarine/blue.  I looked at my water and it was the same, but a little more flashy with the reflections.  I looked at my neighbors house, and a green aura (or something just like an aura) was surrounding the top of it.
