New forum for under 18's?

Maybe just an off topic board (moreso than astral chat) or an under 14 board. I see a much larger gap between the 12-13yr olds and 16-17 yr olds than between the latter and the > 18 yr olds.

Off topic might not be a bad idea.

I feel teens post messages on Astralpulse in order to communicate with adults, or at least mature people.  If you're 14 and want to know more about, say, runes, you don't want an opinion from another 14 year old; you pray for a reply from an expert!

If we get enough teens here saying "yeah! we want our own forum!" we could try a "teen forum" and let folks determine on their own whether or not they fit the "teen" category.  If it doesn't take off, well, we can retire it as a worthwhile but failed experiment.

What I don't want us to do is segregate people based upon age.

Let me stress again that this is not to segregate people by age in any way from the forums as a whole, but rather where younger members can get together and discuss anything they want to.

I am not even saying I think it is necessarily a good idea, I am simply asking for opionions one way of the other. Clearly, if under 18's say they would find it useful then so be it, if not, so be as well.  

I for one certainly value all contributions by our younger members in all Astral Pulse forums.

I'm totally for it as long as it isn't split, just 2 different ways to go.  I'm not gonna be one to go there, even though I am 17.  I consider myself an adult.

i agree with most on this, im 17 and probably wouldnt want to post in a teen forum if i wanted advice, sometimes its nice to see other people your age having similar hobbies and experiences but thats what a profile is for. And most topics in astral chat are generally the kind of things young people talk about like (crazy websites, ect..).
It would be cool if there were teen guides of tutorials on this site, since kids are supposedly different then adults when projecting.

I think its good having people of all ages talking about the same things. Gives people a different viewpoint than they would get just talking to their peers. I feel adding a separate forum for the younger members would defeat this.

I hadn't given this idea any thought before, but am glad that the subject was raised. My view is that the younger folk can participate in the general forums and then PM or IM each other if they want. []

yes i agree with your idea tisha, it really suits those who are into other things and like to talk about other stuff besides what follows on each forum. im 16 but i will go there anyways. i feel that 16 and up are mature ages but we still like to talk of other things.

I'm with Tisha's post. In my opinion, the channeling boards, etc. were a good addition, but anything in the direction of DBZ and 'pop stars' would be going in the wrong direction for those trying to become more spiritually aware. It would change the nature of the board completely.

Too many forums - bad. (Personally, I feel there are about 2x as much forums as needed right now).
More than one off-topic forum - bad.
Forums that are not related to the common subject kernel - bad.

BTW: I´m not fan of DragonBall Z (i use to be) but i like manga movies, and sometimes i read things like Harry Potter (it´s a book very nice because it´s simple and with an anti-stressive story). I´m fan of Dragonlance (do you know Raistlin?!) and Dungeons and Dragons, and sometimes i use plasticine to make short (but very stupid!) movies with my digital photo camera.  

As you can see, everybody has an inner child (at least i have one...and it´s a little crazy[]). So the name of your new forum it should be something like: "Under 18 and mentally under 18"[]

Im almost 16 and I dont like DBZ. Im far more mature. I think we're fine with what we have.

I think it's partly a good idea and partly a not-so-good idea.

Good because it may help for a place for people to discuss those things like DBZ and what-not, but not-so-good because it might be seen as encouraging people to post in one general discussion area rather than another and seperate the board into east and west so to speak (not meaning that as an analogy of the world we live in []).

I'm 16 and I LOVE DBZ!!!! And I am kinda immature...so I suggest something like a quarantine for people like me...you know the youngin's with the other youngin's.

The way I see it, the energy forum is now the "under 18" forum. That's where all the DBZ and immature people go.
Yes there are still a few mature people there which is great.

It's hard to keep up with all the lies and false information the younger, more immature members are posting though, and alot of them just wont come to terms with the fact that they are immature.

I admit that I can be immature at times, if the ocassion calls for it.

So I kinda guess that this "under 18s" thingo already exists.
