Well, I haven't have too much sucess with having out of body experiences.

The few I had,I was laying on my back in my bed.

The longest one I had though I was laying on my stomach.
I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/

Tisha

I did it once on my side, but I wasn't very comfortable doing it.
I think one needs to have a bit of tension in the body to be able to sleep on one's side.  So, that night I projected, all the tension of course had left my body and I felt as though I were squashing myself.

All the other times, I was flat on my back.  It's easier to "flop" while on one's back.

One important piece of advice for back-sleepers:  If you are a curvy girl or have back issues, put a pillow under your knees!

Nice tip, Tisha!

I start on my back, and then turn onto my side.  I am most successful this way [:D]

I can't lay on my stomach anymore, bad back [:(]

Greetings Adrian
I mostly project lying on my back.Less frequently I`ll get out from my right side, and only once have I projected from my left side.I think I achieve a greater degree of relaxation on my back. One thing I`ve noticed is that projecting from my side tends to put me into the RTZ while from my back usually results in a direct route to the astral.I believe it`s more important to get your mind in the proper position. That`s the tricky bit.

Both of my Obes (while i knew about obes) have been on my stomach while my head it turned to one side, AFTER listening to inducing music for an hour or so.

I've seperated in class twice while i fell asleep during a test. interestingly, i was laying on the table (we were in science class, so no desks) so i was on my stomach, in a way.

I have a few different favorites. Often I elevate my legs quite a bit. I sort of crumble my down quilt and pillows and lay my legs below the knees on top of it. It is very important that my ankles are supported as I otherwise get sore feet amd I also put my hands on pillows.

I live on a boat and have had a moderate succes with a hammock that I suspend from the mast to the forestay. It is somewhat different as I have to concentrate more becourse of the sounds and smells. I am taking RBs advise though and presist to master this. Earplugs did a lot for me at one point but I stopped it as I felt I was becoming dependant.

The times I have consciously projected I have done it laying on my back. The first time I projected, not knowing what was going on, I did it in class sitting a chair. I think I was leaning on the table on my elbows. It was in science class too.

I don't really think that position is that important. I think as long as you can get in the right state you can do it from any position.

Using the OBE Journal, I see that most of my OBE's occur on my back (21%), while projecting from my right side comes in second at 17%.

Since a lot of mine happen in the early hours of the morning and I don't write them down until I get out of bed later on, I usually forget exactly which position I was in.  Hence, the large percentage of "Unknown" on the graph.

Not to pump up the program anymore than I have, but as you can see from the screenshot, I could further narrow down the results, and check such things like, "What is the best position to OBE and have an astral enounter?"  Or "What position is best after a sexual release?"  etc.

I can't sleep on my back so my most comfortable sleeping positions are either my right or left side but I always do the AP practice on my back until I reach the pre-exit stage and then I roll over onto my left side and slide out very smoothly and naturally. I always have an exit strategy before projecting or phasing into a lucid dream. If I want to project directly into the Astral I will have a definite destination and mission in mind and kind of will myself there.  If I just want to phase into a lucid dream and do some non-serious stuff I fix a RTZ place and go into that. I know this sounds like easy stuff, but it isn't.  It has taken a lot of energy and focus and it doesn't always work for me and lately I've been missing the vibration stage and the stuff is fizzling out on me. I keep telling myself that if I can just get the right mixture of methodology then I can do it with regularity but so far it has eluded me, but I keep trying!!

DarkQuest

even though i havent had a projection... yet.... ive gotten the closest when i was on my back.

JustLikeThePill- shame on you for falling asleep in class lol [:P][:D]  its good times as i fall asleep in class now and then, but always at the worst time, hehe

I have only once projected out of my body lying on my back and it was not even a  long projection. All of my OBEs happen only when I am lying on one of my sides. It is very uncomfortable to stay like this for long and sometimes (most of the times) I give up. But if I stay like this more than 10 minutes I always feel the vibrations. If I do it early in the morning I have no problem to leave my body. I don't know why but in the evening (probably because the mind is more busy) even if i get the vibes most of the times it's hard to leave my body..

Almost always when laying on my back-occasionally if laying on my right side-never on my left side or stomach-but I find the last two positions very uncomfortable anyways.

Yerzak06

When ever i lay on my back for a long time i start to feel like I'm sitting in a chair. It's weird but I feel like I'm in the exact shape I am in when I'm sitting. This seems to make it more comfortable.

Yeah Yerzak!  I have had the same feelings, once I felt like I was standing on my head. [:O]  But lately my arms seem to just float up like they are full of helium.

I just love it! always something new and exciting happening. [:D]

Nay, do you ever seem to having the feeling that you are on one of the floatable pool raft thing you lay on, i get this swaying feeling sometimes.

Hello,

My positions for Projection vary depending on what I do in that position.  For example, 80-90% of my success for OBE's is in a Sitting position using the 'Life Line Technique'.  Now if I lay on my back, I lay there until I achieve my trance that I desire and I roll to my right side with a kind of fetal positioning.  After this I slip right out to the RTZ.  If I were to roll to my right with destination in mind like the Akashic Record or something to that nature, I would phase right where I want too.  Centa Five claims it is harder than we think; it is actually easier than we think, but we try too hard.

Now when I lay on my stomach and get myself in a desired trance, I'll just slip through my bed and end up in my basement living room.  It isn't that difficult but not comfortable.  When I Trance from the back position and then roll to my left fetal position, I'll usually go lucid, which is strange.  It is just how my brain thinks I suppose.

All my successful consecutive OBE's are from a sitting position using the, 'Life Line Technique'.

Greetings everyone,

It would be interesting to hear of what position people find effective for OBE.

Aside from OBE from a meditative position, i.e. sitting with back straight either on the floor or on a chair, I am not aware of any case where anyone OBE's from any other position than lying flat on the back.

There does appear to be issues associated with lying on the side, which could be due to any number of reasons; e.g. state of relaxation, distribution of energy, ease of release of etheric body and so on. This leads me to believe that position is important; rembering we are discussing OBE that is [:D]

All experiences and comments most welcome.

With best regards,

Adrian.
