Could you be more specific please...?

If you don't like your actual dream, you can change it.  Let yourself fall back or spin on yourself.

I know that I am in a dream state, but it seems more contrived and induced than it did a dream. It was like I was dreaming and the dream was trying to trick me into thinking that it was not a dream, and their were people in my dream that I knew were real and those that seemed fake or dream characters I guess you could say.

It sounds like you are having a lucid dream.
When in the lucid dream state, a person is aware he or she is dreaming, and then once this level of awareness is reached a person can control the dream and change the dream.

The people in that dream might be your own inner fears.

There is a lucid dream foum here as well.

Hi nightbird78,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse! [:)]

There are a lot of members with good information to share. This would include the subject of Dreams of course. I have moved your topic to our Welcome to Dreams forum as it would be better suited in this forum.

As was mentioned already, a lucid dream is one where you know that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. There is also the ability to have some conscious control over what you do in this lucid dream.

Additionally, you might like visiting the website of the Lucidity Institute. Their website is http://www.lucidity.com

Again, welcome and looking forward to your posts.

Well I am not always convinced about lucid dreams. Just because you are aware of a dream then it doesn't mean you are dreaming lucidly. It may have some symbolism in the dream.

If you are refusing people entry through a door it may mean you are refusing entry of people into certauin parts of your personality.Rooms are symbols for your personality. And if your dream indicates that you think these people are bad people - then it could symbolise that you are refusing people because they are bad.

thats one interpretation

You're having false awakenings.  It's really cool though that you're staying in these secondary dreams for so long.  Don't be afraid of the people outside.  There is no hidden meaning to them as some of these goofy nuts will probably tell you.  Take control of your emotions at the time and just tell yourself, "I am dreaming...  I can either make these people go away, or I can turn them into funny clowns if I want to."  There's nothing wrong!  I used to have false awakenings that would frighten me, but now I know that they're just dreams.  Have fun with them, especially if you're able to stay in them for so long.  Maybe you can turn yourself into Neo and take out the agents standing outside your door :-)

I am new to all this and had a question. I have recently been having dreams where I know I am dreaming and then wake up in the dream to find out that I am still dreaming and I know it is not a dream. This has happened to me quite often. I am lucid in the dream and know that it is occurring. During the dream people will come to the door that I do not know. They ask for me to let them in and I dont. They then stand outside my apt. waiting and talking. The wierd thing is I know they are not good, and I try to steer clear of this type of thinking but I dont know what to do? Maybe someone can help?
