Your forgeting some major points.

Spirits (excluding some lower beings) arn't concerned with sex. There is no such thing in the same physical aspect.

Yes there is such a thing as sexual orientation. Males produce a certain scent, look, mannerisms, and possess natural abilities/qualities over females. Females produce a certain scent, look, mannerisms, and possess natural abilities/qualities over males.

I'm attracted to one thing, women. There for that proves there is sexual orientation. As far as falling in love with the person... the person is defined by their biochemical make up as well as there up bringing (generally completely different between sexes). All of this makes there consciousness.

And you use the word "soul". Generally in these circles it is believed that the "soul" represents all past and current lives. Ones soul is both female and male experiences but niether sex. So at that point no it wouldn't matter.

Heres the basic point, if you take the soul out it shouldn't be interested in mating. Therefore it sexual orientation would be celebacy/none. Otherwise your in a physical body.

Do what nature does, don't trip sucka be straight!

I agree that if you remove physical bodies from the souls, they would have no gender. Gender is defined by physical parts.

Isn't it true then that you fall in love with the person, not the sex? Isnt sexual orientation an illusion?

beavis

Its not an illusion. Being bi, gay, or straight depends on your body.

Having sex pertains to the physical, yes, but love? Surely love extends to the world of spirit.

If you consider the physical world to be an illusion, then yes, I agree with this statement.

Perhaps it depends on how bound your spirit is to your body. If your spirit is androgynous, but your body is gendered, maybe it comes down to  whether your spirit controls your body or your body controls your spirit.
Then again, maybe its just the luck of the draw or social conditioning.
Have they discovered the gay chromosone?[:)]

I sure fall in love with a persons spirit and not their body, if that means I get labelled as bisexual, thats fine.

Love and intamacy between two people is a joke. I simply don't believe in it. First of all, when you say that body parts define sex, then yes, you are right. But then you say you are only attracted to women. Why? Because of their body parts. So in the end, all that love stuff is just an excuse to make sex seem okay.

On the otherhand, a spiritual love that extends beyond the physical is very rare between just two people. You may not know it, but you probably "love" your friends more than anybody you've been with. Why? You're relationships, ties, and bonds with that person are stronger.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

We are not just spiritual beings.  We are spiritual beings in biological vessels.  And our sex drive and our sexual orientation stem from our biology - i.e. chemistry, hormones, etc.  If you take spirits out of bodies the question of "sexual orientation" becomes mute, in my opinion.  I find the thought of sexual activity with a woman, desirable and I find the thought of sexual activity with a man repulsive.  That's just my biolgical/psychological make-up - others are different and I don't have a problem with that.  I suspect that when I die and no longer have a biological body I won't have a sex drive at all, or at least if I do have it it will be based on something other than biological cravings.

I do believe that we fall in love with the person and not the sex, but depending on your sexual orientation (which is a biological thing like people have pointed out already) we either see that love as friendship or the more passionate kind involving sex and intimacy. I 'm not saying that sex has to go together with love though, most of the times it doesn't IMO. We all have a specific sexual orientation implanted in our genes. And that orientation helps determine the type of attachment we feel towards a person.

Is there really such a thing as sexual orientation? We do fall in love with the person, not the gender. If you take a group of 20 people, 10 males, and 10 females, remove their soul and place it in a plain room for hours and each person is supposed to fall in love and there are supposed to be 10 couples. Lets say each person calls themselves straight. After several hours the souls are to be put back into their bodies. Wouldnt there also be homosexual couples since you couldnt see the persons gender?
