large energy jolt while OBE'ing

This does happen every now and then.  I look at it like this.  Your physical body and mind are primed for an OBE, right?  You're just on the borderline between the astral and your imagination.  For all intents and purposes, the shift in consciousness is milliseconds away from shifting to your astral consciousness.

Then, all of the sudden, when part of your astral body starts to move, your physical consciousness quickly takes back over and says, "WHOAAAA! Wait a minute!!!!!"

And instead of your astral leg/arm/etc moving, your physical body reacts instead.

That's just my take on it.

I would believe that before I believe that it's someone trying to prevent you from going OBE.

Better yet, I think it just means your nose is itching, plain and simple!  No need to get too deep about this one.  []

Thanks for the insight Jeff,:) but  I think it is something I've been monitoring it for weeks now and the same thing appears with the itch everytime i attempt to astral and only then, I'm not entirely sure what it may be but it's liked somehow or another.

the energy jolt happen to me also. does it mean you are close to a obe? what do you do if that happens? i need help too[]

all it means is that you are about to go into a state of light sleep but are failing.

anything beyond that is theory, it's called a myoclonic jerk, though...

i like the idea that the body thinks it's dying due to it rapidly shutting itself down (sleep/trance) and so it sends a jolt into you, bringing you back into focus.

it does mean you are pretty close though, but it also probably means you are losing focus, as it usually happens when you suddenly lose awareness, or gain awareness from a state of semi-unconsciousness... at least for me.

Well I was just going to ask nd I've experienced this more then once, quite frequently it comes about actually, that when I astral or have exactly set in my mind where I want to go and what I want to do my body flinches big time.
